I brought my daughter for her birthday lunch in the 5th of December and we both had a two course meal from the Xmas menu. The quality of the food was excellent and it cost less than £20 each so represented excellent value for money. I had the turkey and it was delucious. I will definitely be back.

Great Value at 2 courses for £12. Server was efficient, polite and the service was good. A little while longer to wait than I'd expect for desserts, as it was quiet, however they were worth it. Will be back again soon. Varied menu for all tastes, and lovely setting. The bonus of the lit fire on a cold day just made it feel so cosy. Highly recommend.

Although there is a lot of light that comes into the restaurant via the windows it seems quite dark as the woodwork is stained mahogany, lighter wood or brighter pictures or decorations may help. Think the rear entrance steps need attention, old carpet and not really good to walk on if you are a bit dodgy on your feet, perhaps that corridor needs a hard floor rather than carpet, easier to keep clean and lighter. That said, I enjoy my lunches at the hotel, food is good, there is great friendly staff and great prices, we'll be back soon.

There was a lack of atmosphere about the dining area although the open fire was gorgeous.
Given its a Christmas menu disappointed to pay a supplement for the Turkey. The Turkey dinner was in fact quite poor. The stuffing was awful. Presentation poor and the meat itself was cold. That said my partners Macaroni was excellent (although please have a look at what you're serving described as garlic bread, almost inedible). Dessert was described as ginger strawboffe pie which was some crushed ginger biscuits, a big blob of tinned caramel and dome whipped cream and sliced strawberry. My child could have made this. Staff as always were very friendly and attentive but having my dessert served midway through my main was a bit of an oops moment

The food was generally good although one of the party had sizzling prawns and they were too hot to eat and another had the monkfish and the potato accompaniment was tasteless,?the salmon skewers and venison sausages were good, but we all felt it was quite pricey at £120+ with just 2 small glasses of wine
