Thai foods are different in every parts of Thailand. Another type of Thai food that connected to every one is “Khao Tom Kui”. Best known as after party supper, driver’s favourite place along highways and popular urban diner at night . It is like “Diner” in Western. Diners is a type of small restaurant to share nostalgic, retro style, prefabricated and offer a wide range of foods a casual atmosphere where one can eat any meal – breakfast, lunch or dinner at any time of the day.
Local diner was a great place for friends to meet, eat and drink.
“Khao Tom Kui” is a mixed culture with Thai and Chinese which usually served with variety of authentic side dishes. Side dishes are prepared on a rotary basis including stewed, pickle products and dry ones such as stewed duck, pickle cabbage, sweet Chinese sausage, sun-dried pork etc. The dishes served will include both “Khao Tom” and standard dishes that can be ordered specially and will be cooked to order.

I was impressed with the interior decor and lighting; both were tastefully done. I particularly liked the logo design on your cups. The dishes tasted good overall, but I found them to be on the saltier side making me think perhaps too much salt was added. The stir-fried morning glory, in particular, was extremely salty. I suspect that extra seasonings might have been added. On the positive side, the service was commendable. The staff were attentive and courteous. I hope the kitchen can adjust the seasoning to make the dishes perfect.

The vibe there is very relaxing and chill, and salted egg yolk ice cream is also outstanding and special. They are the reasons I came. Pomelo salad and "kaphrao" are also tasty.
But Tung Yam soup is a bit salty.

The creamy tomyum soup was too salty. For service, I made the reservation for 7.30pm of 1 person. The restaurant emailed me and asked me don’t be late. Alright, I reached 7pm and the staff asked me to wait outside and only came inside after 20minutes. Okay when I went in on 7.20pm he said your reservation is 7.30pm please don’t come in yet. Are you serious? And he also never come out to the waiting area and let me go in by 7.30pm. I stepped in on 7.35pm again only he led me to my seat. I don’t get what’s the point here and I feel offended as the restaurant didn’t welcome me as I am only 1 person.

Two visits in two nights. Food delicious both times. Fun and festive atmosphere. The service was a little discombobulated. I tried to order the Tom Collins on the drinks menu, but the server didn’t understand and said I’d be getting a gin and tonic. ?? Then the food arrived long before the drinks. Some staff training is needed. Otherwise, very wonderful.

The table of two people is the smallest that we’ve ever had. it took only three dishes to full the table and barely had a space for drinks. The space between the tables is also small. The food’s overall taste was good, however it was not as intense or authentic as we expected for the Thai food. The service from the waitress would be better if they are taught to ask the customers’ permission first, before doing something such as clear up the dishes. I was not finishing mine, yet but my friend did. It turned out that they cleared them all!. Besides, the vibe and price are the most beneficial for customers. Although I’m local, I am not sure that I will give another visit to this place.
