Frequently Asked Questions- What is Afternoon Tea?
- Afternoon tea is a delicious three-course meal served on a tiered stand. It’s a filling meal that is sure to satisfy even the most voracious appetites! The bottom tier is full of hearty savories that can include different types of unique sandwiches and quiche. The middle tier holds freshly baked warm scones with fruit preserves and devon cream The top tier overflows with delicious and decadent sweets and desserts guaranteed to leave a smile on all our guests. And of course a pot of tea!
- What is a Themed Tea?
- Throughout the year, we offer special themed tea services. While we will always remain an Alice in Wonderland tea room, our food and desserts will be inspired from other great characters in literature or popular culture. (We wish we could transform the decor for each special event!)
- Do I need to make reservations to dine in the Tea Room
- For our Afternoon tea, Themed tea and Nursery tea service, reservations are required. We currently do not accept walk-ins.
- Can you accommodate food allergies and dietary preferences?
- We can accommodate certain allergies / dietary preferences with 48 hours notice. However, please note that our kitchen does process the following: flour, dairy, eggs, wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, meat and more. If you have a life threatening condition due to food allergy, we do not recommend eating the food.
- Can we share an Afternoon Tea or Themed Tea service?
- We have designed our tea service to be enough food for one person. If you would like to share, then we will be obliged to charge you a shared plate fee of. We really appreciate your understanding of this annoying policy.
- Do you offer parties or large group options?
- Due to Covid19, we currently do not offer party or large group options. We can accommodate up to 6 people total. Please note that this is a very strict regulation and we will not be able to combine tables or even sit apart large groups. Do not make double reservations to get away from the regulation - you will not be able to sit with your friends and you won't be able to even see them. Thank you for your understanding and helping up keeping everyone safe and happy.
- Do you offer character meet and greet? do your employees wear costumes?
- We don’t dress like Wonderland characters or have characters to meet at our locations. While we find it uncomfortable to work in a costume, we are happy when customers visit us dressed as their favorite character.
- Is the Alice in Wonderland experience like a Disneyworld or Disneyland Experience?
- Alice in the Village has no affiliation with Disney. We are a Tea Room and we do not offer a “Disney experience” like rides or attractions.
- Can my child get a kids meal if he/she are older than the maximum age on the kids menu?
- Due to COVID-19 our tearoom capacity was reduced drastically. As any other restaurant and small business these days, we are doing everything we can to survive until this crisis ends. As every seat and every dollar we make counts and help us stay in business we made a decision that we need to charge an adult rate from any person 10 years and older. We can provide a kids meal if needed, but if you are 10 years old and older, you will be charged an adult rate for indoor dining.

Service was like the kind you get at a diner. Service was not experienced. Tea service was served with PAPER to go cups (nice but still paper), Obviously chipped tea kettles (all the way down the side chipped, at the spout chipped). The server didn’t even think to ask or bring sugar. The food was subpar. Our cucumber sandwiches was made with a dinner roll!? Not everything on the menu online was offered and that was not mentioned- I had to bring it up. COVID was the excuse but that didn’t make sense in the context of what was asked. My kids expect the drink me drink where you get a little vial of coloring to change the color of you tea (think they called it butterfly tea) It’s a gimmick but that’s why we pay for. If not going to serve it- don’t put it on the menu.
When I asked for milk it was brought in a paper to go cup. Not single serve milk containers in a bowl or something like that. If you are going the disposable route with sugar packets, paper cups, plastic plates and all- be consistent.
We have been to other local high tea places recently and they serve high tea on real plates , real silverware (we had gold plasticware here), real bone china tea cups (not chipped BTW) and with real tea sandwiches. Lovely little single serve sugar cubes, all the condiments without asking.
Our tea was served in paper to go cups at this place. Don’t get me wrong- the plasticware and disposable plates/cups were nice. Anyone who drinks tea knows tea does not take good in paper cups.
It is the only place that takes little kids though. It’s a cute place but didn’t meet our expectations.

The ambiance and decorations were beautiful, the idea is spectacular. The service was very slow, children wanted water and the waitress was no where to be found. We were one of three customers there, then the only table and service continues to be slow. The waitress may have been new to the wizard theme, she didn’t know the different spells to say it would have been a bit more fun if she explained more in detail the potions and spells. The food was ok. The children thought there were too much sweet stuff. Between drinks and desserts. Definitely room for improvement for the price. But overall different.

My daughter and I recently went for the Harry Potter Wizard's Tea. They were able to work very well with my gluten allergy. We were the last reservation and so were there after they closed but did not feel rushed out at all...we stayed the whole allotted time of an hr and a half. The food and drinks were wonderful and very creatively done. My daughter had a blast and loved making her potions!

We had a great time at the Foxboro location! We got there early and was able to sit down early. The manager wore gloves and mask the whole time and made us feel completely comfortable dining in during these Covid times. The food was excellent, cute and filing. The restaurant was adorable and we took plenty of pictures. The manager offered to take pictures of us as well and was very kind. After our lunch, we took home some bubble tea and macaroons. The bubble tea was another experience! Every time i popped a bubble, it made me smile and laugh! Definitely a must try! I can't wait to bring more of my family back next time! My only suggestion would be taller tables, though I understand that a lot of children come and the shorter tables work for them. Thank you for a great experience!

I booked the traditional Alice theme tea party for my daughter’s birthday. When I came back to pay at the end I was charged $39 per person instead of $33. The server told me they’re only offering the make your own meal party that week. I just wish I was informed of this before I came as I would have changed the date for have the traditional party. Also I was told they would do something special for my daughter’s birthday but they only brought over one candle with 3 servers singing 3 different songs at once. However, I don’t want to be all negative. Overall, the place is super cute and my daughter and her friends enjoyed the tea party. And there was a good amount of food that they had to take some home.

I came with my daughter for the very first time last month and LOVED it there, and my son asked to go as well, so we visited Foxboro yesterday for the Wonderland Tea. I didn't think it was possible, but our experience yesterday was even better than our previous visit! Our waitress Ellie was so personable and really went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and that everything was to our liking. She was also dressed as Tweedle Dee which my son loved, and she commented on my son's Cheshire Cat accessories and chatted with us a bit about our love for Alice in Wonderland. We also scooped up some macrons to take home, in addition to the leftovers from our meal. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Such a delightful experience that truly was magical as my sister celebrated her birthday. As adults performing tasks to create potions , we giggled but had a small amount of wonder to question would the potion work. For 90 minutes or so, we were transported to a different world and will have an amazing memory. Our host was beyond amazing and accommodating. We can’t say enough good things. This was my second time at Alice in the Village. The first time was last April and it was completely different. I enjoyed my first experience a lot more. This time around, the chairs and tables were different - I liked the velvet chairs, but the tables were very low. We paid almost $100 for 2 people, but there were only 3 teas available, we didn't get a regular teapot, just a mug of tea per person, and one of the towers only had 1 scone per person. Last time I came, I also had a lemonade that changed colors. There just seemed to be a lot of changes, and I'm sure covid was a huge factor, but the price we paid didn't make sense for the decrease in quality.

This was our first visit to Alice, and I am sure that in pre-COVID-19 times, things were different so we have to make a return trip. The food was perfect. Well presented, tasty and a lovely variety.
The shop just lacked character and atmosphere. It needed more decorating touches to lose the feel of being in a modern shop front. I hate drinking from paper cups too, but I understand the need right now.
Hope to go back and get a real feel for the place next year. Our server was excellent, by the way. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you.

Exciting to enter the place as it looked inviting with the neat decorations & ambiance. Place was clean (except the ladies bathroom but that could have been from previous patrons). Server was sweet but could hardly hear her. She spoke softly & the mask muffled her voice. Food was really good along with the tea!!! We were impressed with that. Photo opportunity was sitting in & next to the big chair with the awesome props next to it. Unfortunately, the server took the photo of us in the center excluding the whole chair & props. Photo includes us and the red wall on the right with the fire alarm indicator. Would recommend for all to go there for their first time but I’d hesitate to return due to the price. I’ll look for deals if they have them.

Alice in the Village was smaller than I thought it would be. Eventhough, it is a fun place to go. I think when it is able to be at full capacity it would be quite noisy. The waitress did an excellent job, and was truly delightful. I would definitely return for other special events. We were there for the Willie Wonka Tea, and will be coming back for the Wizard's tea.

Being a chain tea room some of the food items were obviously NOT made in house-The cupcakes were a disappointment for us- the frosting being too too sweet. We went there for the first time yesterday for afternoon tea and we LOVED it! Our server, Hailey, was the kindest and happiest person. :) She thoroughly explained the menu and walked us through everything. She really went above and beyond for us. The food was delicious and there was such a great variety. We loved the level of detail that the tea, food, service, ambiance, etc. had. We really thought the Alice in Wonderland theme was spot on! If there was one area of improvement then my only recommendation would be to carry the theme into the bathrooms by painting similar colors or painting a cheshire cat or something. Some might think that is silly but I think it would be cute to do. :)

Absolutely loved the whole dining experience! We were supposed to go to Walt Disney World for our daughter’s 18th birthday on July 4 but due to coronavirus that had to be canceled and she’s a huge Disney fan.she has two medical diseases so it limits her as to what she can do so going to Alice in the village just made her 18th birthday magical. Highly recommend this place!

This place is perfect. My friends and I could not have been happier. It's the perfect place to dine out and feel safe while doing so. The food was so delicious I even liked things I wouldn't usually care for, like chicken salad, and the portions and variety were perfect. We will be going back for the next themed tea, I promise!

My daughter had a lovely mommy-daughter date at Alice’s! I loved that there were no choices to be made and that we could just enjoy the experience from start to finish. So much variety in the food items too- there was something for even the pickiest of eaters!

Way over priced for what you’re getting. The atmosphere was ok, but walls were still kinda bare, could add a few things to step it up. Would have been nice to have actual tea cups for our tea party not to go cups. We are huge Alice fans, so we were not totally disappointed, but wouldn’t come again.

Our server , I think her name was Hayley,
was wonderful !! Our little girls ages 5 & 6 fell in love with her. She was so nice & attentive. The food looked beautiful but didn’t taste as good as it looked. The tea was lukewarm. The seats the girls sat on kept sliding back & forth. Overall they had a great time & it was a nice experience.

I made reservations for the wizard high tea for myself, a friend, my mother, and daughter. We all had a great time. My daughter is 4 and was amazed by the whole experience. She especially loved the “potion making” at the end. The food and tea was delicious and we had to box much of it up because there was so much! The staff was extra friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back someday!

The restaurant is super cute, our waitress was fantastic, food was delicious. Lots of choices and lots to keep the little ones engaged. If I had to pick a downside it would be the cost it was definitely a little pricey but worth it for special days out.

I loved everything about Alice in the Village. From the moment you step foot into the tea house you are immersed into Alice in Wonderland. Every inch of the shop is themed . Once seated you start to feel like you have gone down the rabbit hole . The table is set with a tiny menu and magnifying glass and let's not forget your drink me potion.
Within minutes our hot tea was brought to the table . As we enjoyed that our themed tea tray was brought to the table. Our theme was Captain America Freedom Tea. The top tier included red,white and blue adorned treats.
You received a lot of food for the price of the experience. Enough that I brought home my top tier of sweets. Eating the chocolate dipped fortune before leaving because it reveals what character from Alice in Wonderland you are.
The waitress was so kind and engaging she really made us feel at home. I can not wait to go back !

Attended the Grinch-themed tea with my daughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The setting was so charming, the food was delicious, our server was attentive, upbeat and well-versed in all the offerings. My daughter had to eat gluten-free, and was amazed at the full array of sandwiches & sweets on her tea tray (just like mine, with a few tweaks). She proclaimed it all delicious, as was mine. We both had green teas, which were yummy. Another point: we both left with full boxes of leftovers, as each guests tea tray came with 4 sandwiches and several desserts. Just had my scone with breakfast today and it was tasty, and have a sandwich and sweet still for lunch today! I plan to go back with friends another time. A+ experience.

Came here to enjoy afternoon tea for my fiancee's birthday. The team at Alice in the Village - Foxborough provided us with an absolutely lovely experience. This place was great! Super whimsical and the food was delicious and our server was very nice and knowledgeable.
My only suggestion would be to maybe also dress up the bathrooms a little bit? The whole place is all decorated and super pretty and then you walk into the bathroom and it totally takes you out of it.
Other than that awesome experience and a fun tea time with my friend!

Our adventure was great. This was my second time visiting & my husbands first. We decided on Alice’s for our anniversary and we had so much fun. The server was the only person running the store and she was AMAZING. She was well organized and checked in with both tables consistently as well as serving walk-in patrons. The food was terrific especially the gluten free substitutions.

My daughter and I went for afternoon tea having no expectations. Instead, it was an incredible experience: the food, the service, the ambiance; everything was perfect. The Bangkok tea was amazing!! Having experienced numerous afternoon teas elsewhere, I thought the price per person was exceptional and reasonable. My daughter and I are planning to visit again, this time with my son and husband (a Brit who loves English Afternoon Teas). Everything was wonderful, please don’t change a thing!

This was a fabulous experience! Four 12&13 y/o girls all loved it and felt "so fancy", while my husband and I very much enjoyed ourselves, and the food, as well! Our "tweedle" (server) was fun, attentive, and just helped to make the experience great as well!
