This was our second visit to The Bakers this week on a break in Clearwell. Lovely feel to the restaurant. Soft lighting, rustic fireplace and beams. Both waiting staff were lovely and friendly. The garlic butter ciabatta was delicious. Had to do some hard cycling the next day to work off the calories! A village gem.

We had a delicious meal at the Butchers Arms. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend the pub. My only observation, at least the day we went, is that it was very busy, and it is probably best to book a table if you are planning a visit.

Food was delicious and the staff were excellent. We didn’t realise we’d booked a table in an area where dogs weren’t allowed but the person we spoke to had no hesitation to try and find a way round it. He quickly and politely moved a couple to another table and we were seated without any issue. Will definitely come back.

We came fri 12th jan 24 a party of 9, for a pre wedding family meal.
We were a bit apprehensive as we had no idea what to expect.
We were wowed by everything from start to finish. The staff were lovely, well turned out and extremely helpful.
Our meals were amazing. The baileys and malteeser cheesecake was the best I have ever tasted with a bailey's shot on the side.
There was nothing that our party would change the service was 1st class.
If we are ever near clearwel again we will be calling in to the Butchers Arms for top notch grub. Well done 10 out of 10.

This is our 3rd visit in 10 months, we have always had great service, fantastic food, lovely drinks. This time we took our 3 daughters, they loved it, especially our two eldest, they loved the Christmas cocktails!
The main chap, I can never remember his name was absolutely wonderful and had such a great courteous manner, just brilliant.

No other place I will order a steak when out unless I’m eating here. Never left disappointed, cooked perfectly, full of flavour and the rump is always so tender. Never had a bad steak here and the sides and blue cheese sauce just top it off. It’s worth every penny to receive a meal that good and know you won’t be let down by your choice.
Staff are also so polite and attentive, always a good experience and lovely meal here :)

We regularly visit the Butchers arms for meals and always come away having enjoyed our meals, the staff are most helpful and polite nothing seems to much trouble for them, this is our favourite place to go

Becky and I have been raving about your steaks for a long time.
Needless to say my mother and father in-law didn't require any explanation as to why we think so much of the food at your restaurant after tasting it for themselves.

Fantastic evening. Visiting the local area and were specifically looking for a steak place. We weren’t disappointed. I had pre conceived ideas from looking at the menu online (ghastly red colours used - sorry I thought it was a bit tacky) but didn’t judge a book by its cover. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. And much to my delight brown menus :) Seated in a room of the main restaurant but still enjoyed the buzz of the other diners. Started with a cocktail which was made the proper way ! (Not pre mixed rubbish) . Ordered some focaccia to nibble on whilst waiting for our mains. We both had steak (1 fillet and 1 rump) generous portions of accompaniments. Blue cheese sauce was to die for. We were absolutely stuffed !! Our waiters were attentive and friendly (makes a change these days) you can tell they really have a passion for what they do. Gave advice on the local area and things to do. Didn’t initially have room for dessert so was going to take one home but after relaxing for a while we managed to share a chocolate brownie. Would highly recommend the butchers arms. (£106 plus tip) for 1 cocktail, 1 focaccia, 2 large wines, 2 steaks with all the trimmings, 1 sauce, 1 lemonade and a dessert . Yummy and great value for money.

What a jewel this pub is. From the warm reception to friendly helpful waiter. The food is something else. All six of us have it 10/10 and we are a hard bunch to please. All round amazing!!
