Historic building. Staff friendly, quick & efficient. Our group enjoyed morning coffee & cake. When heavy rain flooded kitchen of our nearby lunch venue, Hawkes House quickly took our last-minute lunch booking and provided prompt and friendly service. We’ll be back soon.

We had a fabulous breakfast and were very impressed with the food and the service the history of the building was really interesting too. My daughter really enjoyed her avo toast but didn't think it was good value for the price as you can have a full house (a big plate full of food for £10) and she got one slice of toast with half an avocado on and beetroot puree for £7.50 she was still hungry and was eating everyone's else's food! Maybe just provide more toast for that price??

I got what I went for and got what I expected. Would recommend this outlet to any given taste.
I would comment though, that the staff ensure that when making coffee that it is hotter than I was served. passable but I do like my Latte to hold its temperature while I conduct a conversation with whom ever I am in the company of.

Lovely relaxed place to eat. My family were late for our booked time, but the staff were fine about it. Once we had ordered the food came quickly and was exactly what we expected. The staff were friendly and not overattentive. Just what we wanted. There was a good turn over of people meeting family and friends and the atmosphere was great. On suggestion would be to have more non-alcoholic beers - my personal favorite is Galactic Milk Stout by Big Drop Brewing
