We at Mantra have reinvented Indian food in a progressive way. The dishes are healthily packed with flavour, crunch, punch, and zing offering plenty of choice to vegetarians and vegans. The menus are inspired by seasonal ingredients, the freshest produce, deliciously healthy ideas bringing amazing diversity of India’s regional cuisines and childhood street food memories offering plenty of choices to cater to all types of customers. Indulge in traditional Indian cuisine with us. Enjoy a lavish menu handcrafted by our experienced chefs and submerge yourself in the rich tastes and flavours of the north as well as south Indian cuisine presented and prepared in a progressive technique. It's a known scientific fact that Indian food tastes good! Thanks to the abundance of spices and flavours. Indian cuisine offers plenty of variety with dishes ranging from North to South and sometimes by the kitchen to kitchen. Punjabi, Bengali, Rajasthani, Goan, Gujarati, and Maharashtrian are just the tip of the delicious iceberg. The word “curry” has much more to offer than just an oversimplification of an Indian cuisine coined by the English. It uses a variety of spices (masalas) all individually added as you cook so that the mixture is much more unique and varying depending on the region and sometimes by the specific kitchen. Right food, a Mantra for Healthy Life!!!
Excellent food in a lovely family run restaurant
Very Highly recommend. Takeaway during Lockdown available. Support your locals whenever you are able.
Great restaurant, service and the food was exceptional.
Fantastic food. Really great service. Covid safe measures in place. Really impressed. Had a lovely evening with friends.
It was great to try different Indian food. All very delicious.
Mantra was wonderful! The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious & the owner & his son were lovely. A little gem of a place!
Exceptional food and service
Delicious meal - we loved everything. Very busy, but good social distancing observed. We will definitely go back - great to have a local Indian of this standard.
A shortish menu but superb food. Lovely staff and good atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Delicious food as always! Great service from lovely staff in atmospheric surrounds.
Long time since we’ve eaten at Mantra and it seemed even better than before. I tried the new fenugreek chicken which was a bit creamy for my taste but the Chennai chicken was terrific: spicy and full of flavour. Left a real tickle on the tongue. Will be back soon.
First time visiting couldn’t fault attentive staff amazing food great atmosphere
Fabulous food and friendly staff. Had to wait until 15 minutes after our booking time before we were seated so only rated 9 for service. Otherwise everything was perfect. Ps. Don’t forget to try the dosa!
Lovely evening in a beautiful setting. Great Indian food. Thanks
Excellent meal - this is the best Indian restaurant in Bath!!
This is the best Indian restaurant in bath! The food is wonderful and the staff amazing going the extra mile service wise. Throughly recommended and we will be returning very soon.
Fantastic and delicious food. Great and friendly service. And an incredible vista of a view! Very much recommended.
Being from out of town we were concerned about safety on our first “staycation” but we had nothing to worry about here! Tables spaced and semi-outside due to bifold doors open to circulate air accompanied by all staff wearing masks gloves and using sanitizer (readily available around restaurant) ... food was great ... I mean really authentic and someone obviously knows how to use spices who cooks here. The menu was not your typical korma and madras, it was well thought out and worth looking at before you go if you are just after Bhuna and chips. Starters arrived swiftly and were well presented. Onion bhajis were small, light and tasty not oversized grease balls. The lamb shish was spiced to perfection. For main the butter chicken was warming and full of flavour with great spicing, and the lamb rogan josh was mild but again totally tasty. The mushroom rice had been well cooked and was not an afterthought. We had to wait a while for our mains but they were worth it. Would definitely come back
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Mantra. The food was AMAZING. Our table was on the terrace and the views are spectacular .The perfect setting for a fabulous meal. We would also like to thank the staff who were charming, knowledgable and very helpful .We will be back.
Great venue, Fantastic service, Excellent menu, superb food and terrific atmosphere. Modern, chic surroundings, extremely attentive staff, delicious meal. Excellent value for money. Best and my favourite Indian restaurant Of all time, can’t fail to have a great evening at Mantra.
Very nicely spiced Indian food. Love the Dosa's.
The restaurant was wonderful. It has great atmosphere and the most amazing view over Bath. The food is tremendous- tasty, light, modern Indian cooking. Would recommend it.
Absolutely lovely place to eat! Delicious food, spotlessly clean and really attentive, friendly staff. A great dining experience.
The food was quite excellent as usual and the service was impeccable. The only improvement needed is in respect of the loos; unfortunately a few guests make it unpleasant for the majority of us.
Really lovely evening and managed well with the current situation we find ourselves in. I would of rated the food a 10 but I ordered something that wasn’t spicy enough for me which was totally my mistake! Will definitely be back to try something different .
Excellent service and food. Would recommend to anyone wanting authentic Indian food
Charming staff and great food.
Lovely place, very friendly , knowledgeable service. Good COVID preventative measures in place. Food was really good!
We had a lovely evening ‘1st time’ at Mantra, the service was wonderful and food was delicious. A good atmosphere with enough space between tables to social distance. Will definitely return after lockdown.
I think this is the best Indian in Bath. The food is superb and the staff super friendly. Sometimes a bit of mix up on orders like forgetting one starter which was then delayed....that's why I give only 9 for service. It didn't matter to us much but it could matter a lot. I love it here.
A cut above average, especially the dhosa!
The service didn't seem to it's usual standard. Poppadoms were brought to the table without being ordered and added to the bill. A drink order was very slow coming to the table so had to ask for it again.
Very helpful staff and excellent quality food
A lovely meal with really nice staff.. Good food good service what more could you want Have already recommended it to friends who are going to Bath
Friendly welcome , good clean well Spaced seating arrangements, food was excellent . I would recommend this place .
We took advantage of our going out on a Tuesday with the discount ( from the chancellor), it was great to see lots of others out too. Very well organised, great service , delicious food . It was a great evening . Thank you
Absolutely delicious food and really fun. Cheery staff ,well sorted for distancing so you felt safe but relatively normal. We ordered two things at a time and just kept going till we were about to explode! We will definitely return if ever in Bath again.
It is great food and service from Mantra. Best all-round Indian cuisine in Bath.
We were the only customers in the restaurant for most of our meal and the waiter was very helpful, friendly and provided us with an excellent level of service. The view and ambience was lovely and we had a great experience, would definitely recommend.
Well located, tasty food, friendly service
Great food, really enjoyed the masala dosa which you don't get in that many Indian restaurants.
The food was delicious especially the prawn dish, and curries. The service we received from Nathan our waiter was exceptional. He managed to juggle a number of customers happy despite the restaurant being exceptionally busy and short of staff that night. Made a very enjoyable evening for us all.
Luckily we phoned Mantra beforehand to check they had received the booking via table agent. They had no record of the booking. They were fully booked at 7.30 but they offered us a table at 8.30. Even so, we had to wait a long time for a table as the restaurant was very busy: it was he last night of the eat out to help out offer. The first table we were shown was too close to the next tables so we declined. They set up an outside table for us which was socially distanced and fine. The waiter (Prakeet) was lovely and although rushed off his feet, took time to speak to us and check we were okay. The meal was good and the peshwari naan was particularly delicious.
Great food as usual! Service was very slow especially when it came to getting drinks and the bill. Was clearly very busy!
Lovely setting. Delicious food. Service friendly but very slow. Got the impression they were short staffed.
Excellent meal and service very friendly nothing too much trouble. Very covid aware and felt comfortable throughout the evening. Definitely recommend to anyone .....
One of the best indian restaurants I've been to! Starter was huge (the indian pancake) and the fish in goan style coconut sauce was to die for! Also great view from the terrace and great cocktails. I definitely recommend it!
Good food, polite service but concerned that there were too many tables in the room and the spacing between them was far too close in these Covid times!
Warm the plates to keep the food hot
The food was excellent but the venue was cold. Large doors leading to an outside terrace were wide open causing a cold draft.
