We enjoyed our meal in your beautiful pub and the service and food were very good. The only disappointment was the poor cappuccino- not enough coffee in it and not a thick enough topping We will definitely visit again.

Delicious Saturday lunchtime fish and chips! Super light batter and a great portion of chips, tartare sauce and mushy peas. Good beers on tap… and finished with a delicious sticky toffee apple cake. Delicious!

This was our first time at The Red Lion, and I can honestly say how lovely it was, Food great.(menu had a good selection) Service you could not fault, the waiting staff were very friendly cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. The pub itself was an old fashioned country pub ( unfortunately all too many are disappearing) we loved it, we were meeting friends before Christmas and I just chose this pub randomly ( travelling from Norfolk and Hertfordshire) I am so glad I did. In fact we are making a monthly trip to meet friends there again it was that nice. It gets 10/10 for everything from me.

Sea bream was delicious, one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten. Always a good experience at the Red Lion. Staff professional … our waitress didn’t smile once though, very organised and efficient, an excellent waitress, but she looked unhappy throughout. Several of our group noticed.

The place was clean & staff friendly. The food was excellent and they took care to make sure that my wife had the gluten free meals she needed. Our room had a large comfortable bed, but room was a bit short on space, especially not having room for more than one chair and no nightstand on one side of the bed, but a walk in shower which we needed, so overall adequate. Would definitely recommend!

The meal was excellent. I can't recommend the home made game pie highly enough. Service was friendly without being overbearing. The only lost point was for ambience as I feel the table added since our last visit crowds the bar area in front of the fire somewhat. That said, we will be back.

We went to the Red Lion in Hinxton for a roast dinner and it was better than we were expecting. We’ve tried a few places since everything opened after lockdown and this place has been the best! Great meals at The Red Lion at Hinxton. We stayed for 2 nights and ate at the pub on both evenings and had breakfast there too. The food was locally sourced, fresh and very carefully cooked. Ambience was good, the pub was nicely busy. The service was excellent with the team being friendly and efficient. Will definitely eat there again without hesitation, next time we're in the area.

My 6th visit in 12 months to this delightful pub. I have only ever found it to be 10 stars on every visit. Since my last visit in August a new front of house team have joined. Charlotte the manager was a delight to meet ,and i suspect under her her guidance ,the high standards will develop. Head chef has been around for 16 years and always turns out Michelin star quality dishes.

Many years ago we used to visit the Red Lion weekly with our family. We would like to see more specials on offer and maybe theme evenings. eg Fish Night, Pie Night etc. we would like to come back and use the restaurant more often.

We had booked the Red Lion with a view to making a booking for my husband's 80th birthday in June. The pie filling was very tasty; tender meat and good gravy. Fresh vegetables were carefully cooked. Service was relaxed yet attentive. We have requested a reservation for the party in June!

We all loved the lamb pie. It was my third pie in three weeks, all had different fillings but this was the best. My brother suggested that it was the best pie that he had ever tasted, high praise indeed. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and occasion. No doubt will return for more pie tasting. .

We visited the Red Lion at Hinxton twice in 4 days. The food was exceptional. I had the Pie of the day both times as it was out of this world. Easily the best pie I’ve ever had. The service was efficient and friendly and the setting is just sublime. A stunning, charming village with bags of character.

A friend and I had a lovely Greek salad and a good natter. The atmosphere was lacking as nobody else was in but I’m sure folk will soon get back to coming out. I always love the Red Lion !
