Loved our visit. Had reservation and were given lovely table on terrace. Shared the fishcakes which were super - could taste the smoked snoek. Both had the Kingklip - Superb. Couldn't fault it. Loved the potatoes and beans. Overseas visitors and will be back.

I was there early and had breakfast instead of lunch. However I ordered steak as a kind of a "brunch". It was dry and so were the chips. Did not enjoy the sauce that was on there. Asked for HP sauce and it was empty. Then they brought me other sauces like Platjang, etc. which was fine. But would not order steak again. The other day I had Pizza at hour place which was fantastic. Will stick to that!

We had a wonderful time at your restaurant. So disappointed in that you charge R90 for corkage . This is outrageous esp as it is not a fine dining establishment and more of a beach restaurant. With the result we mainly stuck to drinking water - your loss.

We have been coming to the restaurant ourselves for years and also send a lot of our guesthouse guests. Usually we are very satisfied, but this time only with restrictions! There was a lot to criticize, especially about the fish platters for two people: After a long wait it came to the table almost completely cold. The yellowtail was over-baked, the prawns were still half raw and the mussels were ice cold. After complaining, we were brought mussels that were more than half empty, meaning they only consisted of shells. Instead of the requested king clip, we had dry yellowtail again. And all for the high price of R535.00. Very disappointing!

It being my first time here I had a pleasant experience. Really enjoyed the beer battered fish and chips and the starter portion of your asian style pork ribs. The portion was fairly generous I'd say and could easily be shared between two people which is nice. Overall I had a very pleasant experience, the staff was attentive, the food was really nice and I personally do think for what I paid it was value for money. I had fish and chips (R140) - I assumed and still do, that they confused it with a kiddies portion! The smallest hake I have ever had - and we have seen many hakes as we will in Hout Bay. And are regulars to Dunes, so not sure how they could have even served it. Two had calamari - both were satisfied with it. Stan our server was on the ball on the day.

We enjoyed the experience but we were disappointed to be seated inside after booking balcony. There was no view of the sea, although the restaurant is right on the beach at Hour Bay. The waiter was pleasant but there was a mistake with 1 of the orders.
