Excellent food. I mean really excellent food. Rarely have I had food as good. Beautiful view and lovely walk through the rose garden to get to the restaurant. The serving staff were very well trained, polite and faultless. The chef came to the table to ensure that we were happy with the food. We will return.

Lovely to be met by owner/chef with our German guests that we brought along.Our guests are global travellers and their 24th visit to RSA and very knowledgable on RSA wines and they adore good cuisine. Needless to say the food was excellent, beautifully presented, love the mosbolletjie entree with butter so well presented. Presentation by waiter regarding menu, wine pouring , arrival all very professional. As we have self-catering guest homes on Silwerstrand Golf and River Estate with many guests from abroad your restaurant is recommended to every guest visiting our 2 homes, Hook Shot Lodge and Hook Shot Manor.

I went to Delaire Graaf the next day for my sons birthday and I rate it 5 against Kappokbos at a excellent on all counts, 10!!. Delaire was commercialized, food average and churned out on mass, price exorbitant with no bottle in the Cape Winelands under R960!!!!!!, (3.5K per person not drinking at lot), table bad as seated 8 people on 4 round tables. The birthday pudding was a great disappointment! Bad, bad bad. Kapokbos has an incredible setting, one on one service, food as well as presentation the best in CPT, wine correctly priced for winelands restaurant, chef greeting at table and price just right. Make the trip to Bonnievale. You will never regret going to KAPOKBOS!! My Dutch guests were blown away!

We had the most delicious lunch on christmas day. 3-course set menu. Starting with a very soft and creamy duck liver pâté to a very yummy smoked pork dish. The 4 of us are still raving g about the buchu patatoe pavé. Not to forget all the delicious sides like cauliflower gratin and salads. And our cherry & almond was just one of the best desserts we have ever tasted. We were blessed to try a few fine dinings in SA but Kapokbos was by far our favourite! BRAVO!!

I gave a 9 to the food only because of the oysters, as the ingredients added to the oysters (specially the onion) overpowered the taste, and you couldn't taste the oysters at all. Otherwise, the rest of the food deserves a 10.

I put on the online booking that it is our anniversary...our waiter Ben, did congrats us on it. I was at Mo and Rose restuarant, for our previous anniversary- they brought us a celebrative glass of bubble. I thought it was a lovely, thoughtful gesture... so i think couples with really appreciate a gesture to show- thanking for choosing us, to celebrate your special day with . Same with a birthday- i know its not the Spur ha ha , but people appreciate small gestures of acknowledgement- one little pudding to share. THe waiter, Ben, the food, the service, the prices- a wonderful blessed experience thank you. The little bread and biltong butter spread- to die for!!! Thank you for a wonderful and special day!!

Celebrated our wedding anniversary at Kapokbos, on an overcast and chilly day in Robertson. We were grateful to have made a booking a few weeks ago, as we believe they are now difficult to come by. Just enjoyed a delicious lunch at Kapokbos at Weltevrede. Not only was the food most enjoyable, but the service from a team of smartly dressed personable young men was excellent – welcoming, professional, friendly and attentive. I enjoyed a glass of the Entheos MCC, delicious bread, Autumn Tart of baby beetroot, figs, ricotta and sorrel. A generous main course of deboned and stuffed quail, pearl barley risotto, and wonderful porcini mushrooms garnished with burnt sage leaves. Highly recommended.

At this time of the year, flies can be an issue and so it proved. We live in the area and find fly fans very effective at keeping them at bay. Could perhaps be considered.

Food was excellent as usual. Our table had Skaapstertjies, rilettes, pork and fish - the fish was Yellowtail and was served with atchar - Wow! Absolutely amazing. Absolutely love this restaurant in our valley. Well done Sam and Juan and all the wonderful ambassadors working together with you.

It is by far the best restaurant in the Breede Valley area. It is on par with any of the fine dining experiences in the Cape. Imaginative preparation of the finest local ingredients and presentation. Fabulous owners and staff. Gorgeous surrounds and exquisite wines. A must-visit.
