I am a returning patron and I was socked by the $15.00 Service For Wine By The Bottle... policy. In additional the meat and cheese Charcuterie board was very skimpy. We all order the walleye which was delicious!
The outside patio is so wonderful and inviting.
We had a delightful night.

Had a Light dinner and wine with a friend here on a Friday evening. Loved the food (house salad, beet hummus, veggies) and the wine (also appreciated the chance to sample different options ). The service was excellent, the atmosphere/ ambience was perfect for talking, and the experience all round was sweet.

It was a pleasant experience .
Interesting and tasty food preparation.
Excellent wines.
The service people were attentive and friendly .
The only problem ( that was solved immediately) was that the appetizer came at the same time as the main dish even though we had asked to separate them.
But we will go back because attendants are very nice and the place is set in an original way.

A favorite for a date night. Simple menu done well. Great frites. Good wine and people who really care about your experience. Avoid the corkage fee by buying a bottle to take home, good selection.
Only warning is that since the restaurant also serves as their wine cellar, it is always cool inside. Dress for it, and all is well.

Dining in the Lush patio is so delightful. There is a feeling of seclusion which lends itself to conversation. The waitstaff is first rate and well-informed as to menu items. While the menu is limited there is something for everyone and great wine selection. This was our third visit to Lush in Evanston and it remains one of our top area restaurants. This time both of us had the veggie burger which was fantastic with a choice of it being serve on a brioche bun or on a bed of greens. We opted for the greens. We had stated with a cheese selection and let the waitperson make the selection for us...turned out perfect with the wine we chose.
Highly recommended for casual and excellent dining.

It was such a nice atmosphere to sit outside at Lush. The fires burning and the heat lamps made it really cozy on a late December evening. My husband loved his margarita and I enjoyed the “Boulevardier” whisky drink. The French bistro inspired food was a treat too.

Great crisp Autumn evening eating on the Lush patio. Had the shrimp burger which was perfectly spiced and loved that they had a “skinny” option of one patty and half of a very good brioche bun. Perfect Friday evening meal paired with an awesome Chardonnay from Portugal! Service as always was excellent. We love the neighborhood vibe! Definitely one of our favorite places to eat!

Had an excellent evening for one of our first outings in months. Devonte was so gracious, letting us order when we were ready but ready to take our order. He offered some advice on a nice rose. I had the pasta of the day... pappardelle with wild mushroom, garnished with a dollop of cream, a proscuitto crisp and a basil leaf. There were also peas and corn in the dish....the sauce was a light cream....all perfectly cooked....EXCEPT there was something in the sauce that was bitter.... Everything else was fine.... Octopus Conserva, Steamed Mussels and the Krabby Patty. Chocolate cake for dessert.....that might be interesting with a reduced Porter drizzle.

This was my second time to Lush in two weeks. I really, really like this place. The menu is interesting and easy - just the right amount of options - and the food is delicious. I do find it pretty pricy though - almost $20 for a hamburger and then another $8 for fries? That's a little crazy.

Only issues I ever have here are with the check out system. They are required to run the bill with your credit card first and then you get a chance to look at the check. We had a mistake on our check (2 added items that were not ordered by us) so the checkout was confusing because we couldn't tell if the credits were run or not. Eventually it was resolved via email and messages left later that evening but it will take 3 to 4 days to be refunded. Feel bad for them as this system makes them always have to apologize or comp the bill which I declined although that was nice of them to offer. Restaurants have it tough enough these days. Maybe they should just get a normal checkout system...

sitting on the patio was delightful; of course the weather was perfect. Tables were well spaced. The food was very good and we got an amazing deal on 3 bottles of wine (2 for the price of 1 plus no service charge on the third bottle we had with dinner). Four of us dined at LUSH on a Saturday, we had a reservation and were seated quickly. The service was excellent as were the drinks. A very cute spot on Central St. in Evanston. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood. Although we were seated right next to the station at the bar where the servers picked up drinks, it took a while for anyone to bring us a menu and take our drink order. On the upside, I was unsure about a couple of wines and was graciously offered a taste of them.
There is an outdoor patio I would like to try when it warms up a bit, although it was very cool Friday night, there were a number of people who opted to sit outside.

I made an early reservation for 2 and when my party arrived we were the only party in the garden. We were seated at a square table for two overlooking the alley and propane tanks- the worst seating in this otherwise lovely oasis. When we asked for a different table we were told that they were for later reservations. When we asked for the adjacent empty round table the staff said was it for a party of 3. Later a party of 2 was seated at that round table. When we were done dining the garden patio was not full with many tables unoccupied. Not sure if I will return or recommend Lush.

We sat on the back patio (which is the main option for eating in) was nice, but kept getting wafts of garbage from neighboring dumpsters. They sat us at the worst table right by the busboy station, even though there were nicer two tops farther back on the patio that were never occupied during our meal. The waiter was very nice, but really didn’t know wine (was knowledgable about beer). For some reason, we found the online menu confusing and have used this format at other restaurants many times with no problem. The food was good, liked the portion sizes, and lots of healthy options. Lush definitely deserves a second look (or even third)! They might try offering flights of wines. That is why I like wine bars...curated wines, trying something new without committing to a whole bottle. (Maybe flights of wine were offered and I didn’t see it on the menu)

Food was good, people were nice, outdoor dining was makeshift, biggest negative was leaving smelling like grease.
