We visited on bank holiday Monday as a group of 4 visiting for the first time. Bruno was most welcoming and led us through the menu and the various options about flavouring and portion sizes. We agreed in advance that we would enjoy our starters and then request our main course which was steaming hot and fresh.
We started with lovely fresh tortilla chips and various dips. We then had three different mains which were all very tasty and accompanied by the sauces that Bruno recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the whole experience.
The venue is well presented and comfortable and the draught beers and ciders and other drinks cater for everyone.
This Mexican restaurant is excellent and fully deserves to develop into a must visit venue for anyone looking for something different when visiting the city.
We do not usually complete any reviews (good or bad) but Bruno and the team deserve to be recognised and successful.

False advertising on the menu, ordered braising steak hut served with a cheap chewy bit of steak , s mmm hem questioned we were told sorry but the chef forgot to braise the steak!! We won’t be back.

Unfortunately the food was overpriced for what it was and whilst tasty was very dry.
The basement was cold and lacked atmosphere which was a shame especially as we’d booked ahead of time.
A few small improvements would make a big difference.

I understand food is cooked to order, but still a long wait. When food arrived it was warm but not hot. The spicy chorizo burrito was not as expected, the spice was jalapeños and the chorizo could have been done with being in bite sized pieces and maybe crisper? Pleasant server and liked the concept of the restaurant.

Hi - we thought the food was lovely with and fab presentation. For me I prefer guacamole and salsa to have more garlic, coriander and lime but that is my taste. loved the hot sauce to add on top.

The downstairs room was freezing! We all had to sit with our coats on. The waiter said he had turned the heating off as he was too hot… but he didn’t turn it back on after he noticed us all sat huddled together!
We waited well over an hour for our food to be served. We were absolutely starving!,
3 of us ordered Burritos- 1 was a vegetarian and was made entirely of chopped peppers and tomatoes? No rice?
The other 2 were chicken and the servers had no clue which one was hot and which was mild! They consisted entirely of dry rice and small bits of chicken. No cheese, no refried beans. Extremely disappointing. I’ve had nicer Burriots tbh in chain restaurants.
I wouldn’t rush back again which is a real shame as the place is beautifully decorated inside .

Absolutely loved everything! The cocktails were outstanding, especially the sangria! The food was incredible - highly recommend the street corn. Maybe a little too much rice in the burrito but certainly didn't ruin anything. And the fried ice cream was heavenly - crispy outside, creamy inside and beautifully sweet. I'll be back very soon.

Me, my partner and our group of friends visited here for a birthday and we had the best experience! Straight away upon entering, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was 10/10. We all agreed this was THE best mexican food we have had. We shared some nachos and then each had a different dish for our main and equally enjoyed them. For dessert we ordered a few churros and fried ice cream between us which were also delicious. Would definitely recommend visiting here if you are in Carlisle!! Thank you.

Very impressed as first time guests. The young fella who was our waiter, very happy to show and explain dishes. It’s not a grumble at all but a weird request. The meals are very big and we found a bit of a struggle. Taste was superb so didn’t want to waste it. Maybe a tad smaller?

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The food was excellent, very tasty and flavoursome. Service was superb. I loved the fact the owner brought extra soured cream and guacamole without charge. The free shot of tequila was a lovely surprise.

Was lovely to be with you you honestly have the most warming presence Bruno and we wish you every success, all new places have teething problems and yours did seem to come form the kitchen I’m sure this will even out the food was nice but unfortunately 3 of us have been ill with D and V and I brought back up raw chicken, not saying this is the reason but just to let you know. X
However on the day any kitchen issue you had you delt with being gracious warming and proud as you should be and this out weighs any issues you were having and I’m sure they will iron out soon . I will be returning for a cocktail tree ace idea and some nachos that cheeses dip was delicious and a very good side to have actually my son loved it as an extra x again I wish you every success xx
