As strangers to the area, being on holiday, it was re-assuring how welcome we were made right from crossing the portal into the Kings Head. The service was brilliant and attentive, the food was sublime in every way, and the beers stocked on draught were first class. The locals were friendly, and the attraction of the Landlords dogs and local canine visitors with their owners added greatly to the atmosphere. First class.

We enjoyed a really lovely stay. There was nothing that could have been improved; comfortable bed, thoughtful decor, excellent shower, fresh milk for the hospitality tray, and absolutely brilliant maps of local places/history along the upstairs corridor. The food was delicious, there was a good selection of real ales and the decor in the bar was lovely. Plenty of outdoor tables for when it’s a bit warmer.

One of the best pubs we’ve ever been in if not the best. We went 2 nights in a row! Amazing service from every single member of staff, delicious food (would highly recommend the ham and eggs) and lovely atmosphere. Had a few games of pool and we were even offered a lift home as we were staying in the area and it was a 40 minute walk back in the pitch black. Wonderful place and can’t wait to visit again.
