Looking out the large windows should have provided a beautiful view. Landscaping was lacking & fountain was dry. Steak was very good, but chicken piccata needs work. Chicken was cut in 3 small strips (not the normal medallions) and overcooked, rice was tasteless.

We received our salads and right away the entrees. We had a NY Strip that had so much fat all through it. We ordered the 16 oz and probably two-thirds of it was fat. Not worth the price!!!!

We were disappointed with the experience. The waiter was uneducated about the menu and drinks. The food was very salty, specific the steaks. My salmon was chewy and very overcooked. We did enjoy the Brussel sprouts! For the money spent it was diappointung. It was our first time visiting with a group of 5.

I’ve been here twice before for conferences, but decided to come back with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. The chocolate cake is a MUST! Food here is really good, and the staff is always friendly and hospitable. This was my observation for both the conference and as a resort guest. Great place. Excellent food. Amazing staff.

The atmosphere and service was wonderful. We both ordered steaks. My husband got the T bone and I got the NY strip. The server was very nice but had to come back multiple times to our table for different questions. What size steak did I want, out of green beans (we were the only people in the restaurant how are you out of something) no dressing with salad but again he was very nice and personable. My biggest complaint was my steak. It was burnt on the outside. I had to cut out the inside to eat it. Like it was seared too much. I am not one to complain so I didn’t say anything or complain because I feel like when people complain they are looking for something free but I hate we paid almost $200 for a meal and if I wouldn’t have had the fantastic potato and salad I would have left hungry. We also had the crab cakes which were very good. We had planned to come back for breakfast the next day but decided against it after the steak. Also it would have been nice to have some sort of bread with the meal.

Even tho the restaurant was almost empty we had to wait ages for our food, when it did come our baked potatoes were almost raw and not even Luke warm, and our T bone steak was well done instead of medium rare! On the other hand our waitress was wonderful and attentive. Not a great experience I’m afraid

Very nice menu selection, very good quality food, but a little pricey considering the ambience, decor, table/chairs are a little "tired", or, more conducive to large meeting groups rather than a small couple trying to have a quiet pleasant evening. Large room needs to be partitioned off, or divided up to make it less like a dining hall.

Though this matter has since been resolved - we were at our table for 30 minutes before seeing a waiter. Then waited another 30 minutes for a toss salad that was wimpy at best. My chicken piccata was inedible. Chicken had a hard overcooked outside too tough to chew and I only received about an inch strip with the plated meal. Rice was dry and uncooked, broccolini was tough. My husband’s steak was charred outside and raw inside and the meat quality was bad. Our waiter never received drink refills or bread refills although he was quick to bring the check. Myra the hostess is the only saving grace. We reported this. We will never be back. Bad experience all around. No excuse for the quality and haphazard meal. It was a mess and we were looking forward to a quiet and relaxing dinner.

tried and tried to call and cancel the reservation starting on 2/10/22 unable to reach anyone at the restaurant. left a voice mail. unable to determine if it was the commodore or not. never heard back from them. there needs to be an easier way to communicate just as when the reservation was made

Due to our schedules, this was our Valentine’s Day date night. When we arrived we were not on their reservation list. I had booked it online over a week ahead. It wasn’t a big deal considering it was very slow. The service was absolutely horrible. Our drinks sat empty multiple times even though the waitress passed our table to get to the rest of hers. The asparagus was cold, mashed potatoes were missing from my plate and her steak was warm at best. We did like the taste of both meals. We also had a bottle of wine sent up to our room, but it never did show up. Our waitress told me twice that it had been sent to the room. This was not the date night experience I had hoped to share with my wife. I would understand if they were busy or short staffed, but this place was almost dead and there were plenty of employees there to accommodate the quantity of guests.

The Zero Ratings are not for the Lakeside Restaurant - instead they are for your Table Agent Site. Your Site accepted my reservation and then confirmed my reservation just prior to the date. However, when we got there, the Restaurant was CLOSED FOR DINNER for the season. Nice going Table Agent!!!

I was concerned with this restaurant. The staff could not accept a mix drink order. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet which they tried to put on ice. The shrimp cocktail tasted like the shrimp were old. We ordered steaks for dinner and the filet was black chard on the outside and over cooked. We were very dissatisfied with this place.

Online Menu, vs actual menu vs priced receipt was different. Menu options cut in half, prices up by 50%. $15 ceaser salad looked like it xame our of a bag from the grocery store, ceaser dressing was good. Space heaters placed all around cause there is no heating. Steak was burnt on outside, medium on inside after they made it a second time after originally ordered as medium rare. Positive: Super friendly staff.

Host wasn’t wearing a mask. They said setting was 50% capacity but that 50% wasn’t spread out at all. Tables with other people were sat right next to us just a foot or two away. Waitress was nice. Food was pretty good but not anything overwhelmingly good.

We ordered two Chateaubriand at $135 and both were severely overcooked. The medium rare was well done and neither were carved tableside as listed on the menu (which was one of the major reasons we ordered it) It took an hour to get the food then ANOTHER HOUR to receive the replacement one. And the manager never came to speak to us and only issued a $50 credit on a $135 item that took two hours and was not presented as advertised.

Menu was limited. Had the peppercorn tenderloin. It was pretty good but too peppery. I did not expect the whole steak to be covered in pepper. It was cooked the way we requested but had little flavor as far as steak is concerned. I had the asparagus and a house salad. The salad seemed a little wilted but tasted good as did the asparagus. We wanted the cheesecake that was on the menu but settled for some so, so carrot cake.

Negatives: a salad came out without lettuce as described in the menu; a crab cake appetizer was served without any sauce as listed on the menu (and the wait staff could not find any - why would the kitchen send that out). We visit Tangelwood often. This time we invited friends and family to join us for the memorial weekend. Unfortunately, the experience was way below par (service and food). We had a 6 part table, out of the 6 only 2 of the entrees were properly prepared. When it was time for desert they said oh sorry we stopped serving desert earlier. We were like, why did you not tell us this. We had an 8:30 reservation. We are very disappointed in our experience, especially since we invited guest.

The steaks didn’t quite meet our expectations. We had AMAZING steaks in a previous visit and were expecting same. These were a tiny bit over cooked and too salty. The restaurant was out of crab cakes and blue cheese which are two of our favorites. My husband ordered a second IPA and was told they were all out. Disappointing. Everything else was wonderful and our waiter was amazing.

Would appreciate not being told that ordering something additional like a sauce or a side will be _____$ more. I know you are catering to budget minded guests but most people who go to a steakhouse billed as this one is now don’t really want to hear the price - at least not us. Our orders were slow coming out. We ordered three dishes of chicken piccata.The chicken was dry and The pasta and /or rice was not seasoned. Very disappointing. There was just no flavor with this dish. Also, we had to ask for bread, and I did not get my side dish of Asparagus with my meal. I was told they were out and if I ordered salad it would be extra cost. Then suddenly the asparagus appeared. The best part of the meal was fried brussels sprouts which we all enjoyed. Our stay in general was a good one , however I wish the hotel and resort would be updated because it has nice features and it’s clean but it needs to be brought up to today’s standards.

Very very slow. Reservation : 7:30 Salad delivered : 8:30 Prime rib so rare you could not chew it . Did not have enough dinner rooms for our 6 people - only brought 5 No horseradish sauce for prime rib- said they ran out. Nice waiters, just did not have enough help. Will not eat here again . I’ll go over to Highport for better food .

I got thr picatta chicken and is was overcooked and very dry. The 2 shrimp were delicious as was the sauce. The scallops with risotto were good - scallops cooked perfectly but risotto had too much oil. The red velvet cheesecake was the best I ever ate. The Caesar salad with homemade dressing was awesome. So was the house salad with homemade bread. Hopefully the new owners can change out the carpet to help get tide of the musty smell of the old building. Other than negatives, we will probably be back.

The restaurant had a moldy aged smell. Service was terrible on a slow Saturday night. Ordered Wine waited 20 minutes for bottle that was sent to table already opened. Not offered to taste a $100.00 bottle of wine a full glass was poured. No idea how to serve wine. Steak was 1/2 thin cut Ribeye so way over cooked. Waitress did not clear one dish in entire dinner service. Had to ask other waitress to remove some plates. Would not go back,

Everything at dinner was fabulous. With such a big group it was fantastic that everything came out together. No one was having to wait for their dinner! We look forward when you can order breakfast from a menu and not the buffet! The wait staff went above and beyond! Tanglewood has a great team!

Generally very pleasant and enjoyable experience and meal. Lake view is accurate, but it is over 1/4 mile away. We enjoyed steaks (filet and New York Strip) with the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. The extra side of sautéed mushrooms with garlic was over the top salty. That must be corrected. Desserts of creme brûlée and chocolate cake were excellent.

Unfortunately the dining experience for dinner was less than pleasant. Long wait time for food (waited for over an hour after order placed) and then the food was not good. Overcooked burgers. We miss the ambience and quality of the previous restaurant which served nicer and better tasting items at dinner like steak. It is basically a mediocre burger place at best now. We hope for improvement - really enjoy our stays at Tanglewood and hope this feedback is seen as helpful. A positive - Our waitress was very sweet and apologized more than once for the delay in getting our meal. ☺️
