Taste Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit established simply to feed people one community at a time. One of every six Americans faces the reality that they may not be able to provide for their next meal. There are programs in place that help; however, in Tarrant County, 36 percent of this food insecure population live above the poverty level and receive no government help. Our mission is to feed, educate, and serve our community so they may “…taste and see the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:8. We believe everyone should have access to healthy nutritional food. Our vision is to see our community become the solution to the challenges our community faces as it relates to hunger. Our first project, a non-profit restaurant, focuses on healthy, quality meals made from fresh ingredients. Our menu has no prices. This is a give and take concept. We ask guests to do one of the following: 1) pay what you can afford. 2) pay what you would typically pay. 3) pay what you would typically pay, plus a little extra to help a neighbor in need.

I always have a good time at Taste. It's the fresh food and service of course. But mostly it's your customers who bring in the freshness of their personal stories to the table. I am happy to be part of the Taste community. My sister and brother-in-law were first-time guests. They've already indicated a return visit, soon! There's simply not one thing I'd change! It was fabulous and so welcome that I could bring a friend who because she doesn't have much but lots of pride, can not socialize for a dinner or breakfast outting. She was so pleased to go, and to pay what she could. It was wonderful seeing her so happy! Thank you. This was my first visit to Taste Community restaurant, but it won't be my last! The staff were so friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing and upbeat, and the food was scrumptious! The portions on the main plates are quite generous and since I ordered a cup of soup as well, I had a bit of a challenge finishing my main course. Some plates are offered, however, so I may order the smaller portion next time. Very enthused about this treasure!

I have eaten at the Taste a few times and every experience has been wonderful all the way around. Nice, kind, friendly, and clean atmosphere. Sometimes I don't have much money to pay and sometimes more, but believe me it's so worth every penny the love that the chefs put in to making the food.

It was such a blessing to have experienced dining in your establishment. The food was amazing. The portions were huge. Neither my daughter or I would finish our meals. As always, the staff made our family feel so welcome and wanted!! The hostess even found a toy to give my son since we were there for his 9th birthday!! Love you all very much and appreciate the worl you do. Looking forward to Arlington location opening. My wife and I come monthly. I brought nephews with me this visit and was told there is a policy that all children under 12 must order from the kids menu. I don't mind this policy as the one 12 year old I had could not finish his regular menu item and had some help from the younger child. So this is probably a good policy.

My first visit for breakfast. I have visited for lunch probably 8 - 10 times. It was visit 6 or 7 before any wait person mentioned that half orders are possible due to no carry out or to go options. I immediately ordered a half order of my lunch. For this visit for breakfast, my table of 5 was told that half orders are not an option. And also, no carry out or to go. All 3 who ordered the ricotta toast could only manage half and were disappointed they couldn't order half, or take half of their food with them. We completely understand why, due to the dining experience and respect shown to all diners. The wait staff was very new so maybe miscommunication about availability of half orders. Just a thought to have wait staff explain to every diner or ask, are you aware you can order a half order, and there is no to go for your leftovers. Thank you for the divine work you do; I'm a huge fan!

Taste remains my favorite restaurant ever. The food is typically Michelin-star quality, and that’s not an exaggeration. I tried the eggplant sandwich today and it was super tasty. The kids like the crispy potatoes on the kids menu. As usual the volunteers are super nice and check on you and see how your day is going.

It was so loud I couldn't hear the person sitting next to me. Not much that can be done about it I guess, and the place was packed, so it's understandable that people get louder the louder it gets. Perhaps noise barriers could be considered at some point? The servers were wonderful and ours checked on us several times! We were visited by 3 fellas, one being the program manager and his counterpart, and another that I can't remember his position. But, all three were welcoming and interested in any thoughts we had. I can see why people cram into the place -- the entire staff were all very sweet, nice and respectful. It was a little confusing with the tab - you can pay some or any, or not. It was actually fun to put more into the kitty so someone else can enjoy living the dream of Chef William! One person in my party remarked - you can't tell a homeless person from anyone else, and that's quite a compliment for a place that is so giving and nonjudgemental. I hope it succeeds way beyond anyone's expectations. Thank you for such a pleasant experience!

The staff are great and welcoming. The new menu offered spicy stuffed poblanos and a corn soup which were both delicious. We like the new fruit tart dessert but the pb chocolate one is too much on the peanut butter side for me and even the kids which was surprising. We’ll miss both tacos and the soup from the last menu. Please bring back last menu style where there wasn’t a separated kids menu. There are good vegetarian options on the kids that are now excluded to adults which limits options. I like when you could just order a half for kids off the overall menu and the kids also pick off the regular menu so the designation doesn’t really help, at least for us. Overall a great experience as usual and can’t wait to try the other new items

The restaurant is comfortable and inviting as well as the staff. We get hellos and how are yous and the staff remember you and are very nice and helpful. The portions are great and the food tastes really good. Our community is lucky to have Taste to go to.
