Went for an anniversary meal with my lady and what a beautiful meal it was too, the food was just perfect, although we both couldn’t eat it all. Large portions of beautiful tasting full flavoured curries , complementary papadoms with an array of dips. Really friendly and assertive staff, would definitely recommend Tarka to anyone of my friends who visit Derby.

Perfect lovely attentive all staff food quality amazing only negative I’m going to give is no card machine just cash which is necessary nowadays as people don’t like to carry cash nowadays but other than that lovely

Thank you for catering for our needs. A suggestion I would like to make is that the plates had finger marks on them and were clearly visible which was not to your standards. Water should be supplied on tables regardless of other drink orders

I was charged for an extra roti which I did not have so calculation needs to be improved. The chicken was really nice. The waiters were really amazing and made out experience 100%. The salan was a little bland but everything else was on point. Hygiene was really good too!! Thank you :)

The staff and overall experience of the restaurant was amazing. The waiting times was not an issue as it can be understandable about waiting between meals. Also the food in general was cooked perfect it definitely won't be our last visit I would recommend to anyone.

Me and my wife came here on valentines day. Firstly I would like to say from the point of walking in to leaving everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming and could not fault them for trying to go above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Big shout out to Sheraz, top bloke and very attentive. The food tasted amazing and the spices and seasoning used on the food almost made you feel like you were in abroad eating local street food. The ambience was good but the reason why I have scored this an 8 is as it was valentines day it would have been nice for the restaurant to sparkle the restaurant with some nice balloons and roses to make the occasion even more special. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend this place to someone. Because of my ambience score and because we had to wait 40 minutes for our bill and ask 3 difference people I've scored our overall experience an 8/10 but we will definitely be back soon. I liked the presentation of the food. More variety maybe needed with different foods like pasta lasagne and more options for kids. I liked the ice-cream it was very refreshing. Biryani was very tasty and lamb Karahi was nice and large in size. Starters lamb chops and fish pokaray were nice tasty. For a first time was good experience.

Staff were extremely polite and friendly. The atmosphere was great, ambient and relaxed. Food service took too long. Some of the starters in the badshahi platter were slightly bland and quite dry and the chicken manchurian could also be more saucier. In house cake was delicious.
