Lovely freshly cooked breakfast, well presented and very hot. Pleasant helpful staff and a great view from my table. interesting decor and comfortable chair. Slightly on the pricey side as the coffees and toast were charged separately but I would definitely go back.

Thank you for a lovely evening for my mum’s birthday. We all had a lovely time. The food was lovely as was the company. The staff were attentive but not over the top.
My only criticism was that not everyone could have their first choice of meals as you had ran out, however we did all enjoy what we did have.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at Furzeleigh Mill. The size of the roast dinner was just right as we wanted to make room for the delicious trifle to follow. Although short-staffed we did not have to wait overly long. Due to the beautiful weather, it would have been nice to sit in the garden to enjoy a drink/coffee after our meal but all the tables were reserved. If there had been a time of arrival on the table we may have had a chance to sit down and be gone by the time the table was needed.

Great food in a lovely setting. Furzeleigh Mill restaurant is a small and intimate setting in a beautifully converted mill. There is a small menu, but the food was beautifully prepared and cooked, with nice attention to detail. There's obviously a great chef in the kitchen who cares about the food. Fine dining without ostentation. The restaurant has a small and reasonably priced wine list, alongside a huge selection of Gins. Service was a a little slow, but it's a small establishment, and staff were friendly and responsive.

I'm Glad you enjoyed your steak and our staff were excellent. We created the extra sides options due to customers asking to swap fries for different things contanstly, our portions of fries are £4, if you asked for the parmesan fries they would have been £6. Due to current climbs we have had to adjust our pricing accordingly, all our produce is fresh, local and organic. Really enjoyed our sunday lunch served by the friendly ladies - just a couple of points that i hope you will find useful rather than critical. The cauliflower cheese seemed to have been sitting for a while so that sauce was sticky and no "bite" to cauli and the roast potatoes seemed to have been deepfried ??

Beautiful hotel and grounds, everywhere clean, bathroom gorgeous! Room quite small (Mill Leat, not the compact room) so didn't really need the bureau and stool it got in the way. Food was sublime, with complimentary amuse bouche AND canapes! I was almost full before ordering so wish I'd realised beforehand you had to order 2 courses, I really only wanted a main. Expensive, but great as a one-off.

The food here equaled some of the Michelin starred restaurants I have dined in. The waiting on staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. With the quality of the food and service the limited car parking space maybe a issue. I would certainly dine here again.

We had a lovely welcome, the staff were friendly and helpful, the menu was explained well and our orders taken and brought in good time.
The food was fresh and very good quality.
We felt the crayfish and avocado salad that three of us had was a bit on the small side for the price. The feel of the place was a bit more formal than the more pub / relaxed sort of atmosphere we are used to. Overall, a very smart restaurant in a lovely, and easy to get to location with good food and great service, thank you.

Simply put,I booked an evening meal and arrived on time,but the service was not the best,far too slow with the amount of people sat eating and it looked as if everybody was in the same predicament.Of the two staff on waiting duties the younger member seemed pre occupied.I will not fault the food,it was well presented and good quality but in my opinion a three course meal can be served up within 1 hour and that is great service,in fact on the previous evening in another very close establishment that was achieved and my bill paid up in forty five minutes with far more customers in on this particular night,so fluent service is all that is needed.

Food was great and the venue is really lovely. Staff were polite but just a little slow to greet us and to get coffees and food out. It was a quiet time of the day though so I feel it was a bit of a blip maybe.

Lovely venue, excellent customer service but unfortunately the eggs in the egg benedict were overcooked, hard and the meal was lukewarm. The panacotta was also quite rubbery most probably due to too much gelatin. However the wine and the ales were excellent and we will be going back again to try their other menus.

A great transformation for this ancient pub/restaurant. Second time here in the last 2 months and would recommend to anyone. (Thai fishcakes are relatively small - but definitely hot!) Guitarist playing live in the background was a definite plus to the overall ambience.

Really enjoyable evening conducted by the amiable Tessa. The staff were under pressure but remained joyful throughout the evening, and the food was really excellent. Overall a successful experience, we will book again.
Things I'd improve if you'd welcome a critique -
1. A lot of thought and expense has gone into the decor of the dining room, the chairs are very, very comfortable and I'm a sucker for a squishy carpet, but the wine glasses are well below par (too cheap bistro), check out the ones they use in Coljan in Ashburton. You could also probably stand two or three more wines at the high end of the wine list.
2. Can't stand paper napkins, the quality of your food deserves better than that, although it may be a Covid thing.
3. When the charming waiting staff deliver an unexpected surprise in the form of an amuse bouche, they really need to say what it is, if only for allergy purposes. The only thing I'm allergic to is an empty wine glass!
4. The clearing of empty aperitif glasses and bottles was very slow (I had to ask when the table started filling up), but they were under pressure for staff numbers (who isn't in the hospitality industry at the moment) and we warned of this at the start which was greatly appreciated.
Anyway, overall a cracking evening from people who care about you!

Overall even in lockdown the restaurant service and food was fabulous. I had the stone bass which was delicious, staff were very attentive and very welcoming. Covid secure excellent. Would definitely dine there again.

Very long wait for food. Appeared to be not enough staff to manage bar, customers, table service. Roast potatoes not cooked well enough (very pale in colour). Was expecting more as such a good reputation and quite expensive. Staff were very friendly and the decor is beautiful done.

Lovely food really original flavours executed well but the decor feels soulless in the main dining area with chairs too heavy to move easily over carpet and paper napkins‽ The waitress however lovely is not remotely suitable for such a pricey menu, you’d expect to see her in a local cafe.
