Best night out I've had in a very long time! Incredibly entertaining. Drinks were delicious, although slightly on the pricey side and they did send our order to another table and then forget it again so it took nearly an hour to get our 2nd round, but they did explain they were very understaffed so we'll let them off. Won't put me off going again!

The staff managed the issues that occurred with the hen doo, really well. The act was superb and we enjoyed a great evening. In future, perhaps the door policy should be changed such that perspns/groups who are under the influence of alcohol will be refused entry. Looking forward to coming back again.

There was no food so couldn’t rate it but we all had a fab time. Definitely going back even tho I slept the whole of Sunday! All the staff were brilliant and the act we saw was top notch. Highly recommend

I booked this venue for my graduation celebrations and could not have picked a better place The atmosphere is amazing we all felt safe and secure and the cocktails are to die for The drag act Miss Diana D was out of this world and made us all laugh so much We had the best time dancing and having fun and we will be back again very soon

A tastier non alcoholic beer/lager selection and crisps! tea and coffee! I feel i could go there alone as a female and feel welcome, Brilliant, just what North Devon needs, a safe LGBTQI space. I love the sofas, so comfortable and the DJ warm up played great tunes. The staff were all very welcoming, thank you Steve and Paul.xx

Me and my friends had such a brilliant time. It was my first time in there and I had the best night, it’s so beautifully laid out inside, the decor is beautiful! Linda matthews was fantastic and so hilarious! The vibes in the bar were just great and the staff were all lovely! Thanks for such a good night we will be back soon :)

We had the best time at Masquerade from start to finish, my party of 14 were made to feel welcome and as soon as we saw inside the venue we were astounded! Best cocktails ever, brilliant entertainment and we all had so so so much fun. Words don't do it justice - thank you so much for making our Mum's night out a roaring success! Only surgestions would be for the dj to be pumping out the tunes from 8 onwards and after last act to get right back on it. Not tail off the night with rubbish songs to make people go home

This was my first time visiting Masquerade and I simply loved it! It was smaller and more intimate than I expected, and all the better for it. Lovely team running the place, good sound, great drag artist, just great and we will definitely be back! If I had 1 suggestion it would be to have a gender neutral toilet cubicle downstairs that guests can ask to use. One of our party has Parkinson’s and would have greatly appreciated that, as would the Trans Woman in our group!

First time here and we loved it. What a place. The service was really great, until it got busy and then the drinks took a while or were forgotten so we had to chase up but other than that it was fabulous. Gorgeous setting, great entertainment and felt very safe. We didn’t have food so couldn’t grade it but the cocktails were divine.

The evening was fantastic, staff were wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxed until we witnessed a manager be incredibly rude to a staff member in public. I found his whole approach to the young lady was rude, derogatory and totally degrading. I did speak to him afterwards saying the staff were amazing and deserved to be treated with more respect. I did not get his name but he was a tall, slim man, I'd guess in his late 50s/early 60s. Thankfully it didn't completely ruin the night but I wouldn't want him dealing with me when I next attend.

Chairs were so uncomfortable it gave me a bad back that night and the day after. Really tainted the evening, we were sat right under the speaker and my ear drum burst that night, not blaming that on you but it was far too loud

Noone answered the phone when we rang to say we would be a little bit late. Apart from that, we enjoyed the evening. Barnstaple deserves to have an alternative venue like this - long may it continue!

thanks for your review- the phone wasnt answered as we try to give the customers within our 100% attention and we do find alot of the calls are for people wanting to make reservations when we are trying to check guests into Masquerade. We will look towards a better system so that calls are met when made.

It is such an awesome space and environment. My only disappointment are the djs, they don't seem to play to the crowd, each time I've been it's clear what is getting people onto the dance floor and what isn't but most of the time there are very few people up and dancing. Everything else is absolutely awesome though
