DarkBear is an award winning rum cocktail bar in Bridport. You will find us underneath The Bridge House Hotel at the bottom of East Street. We have a separate entrance to the left of the hotels main door.

We do not allow hen or stag parties but we do offer a mobile bar service where we can bring the cocktails to you, email us for more information.

Frequently Asked Questions- Do you allow dogs?
- Yes!
- Can I park at The Bridge House Hotel?
- Unfortunately no. All spaces are reserved for hotel guests only. Nearest car park is at 54 East Street car park.
- Do I need to book?
- We always recommend it especially Friday & Saturday. We are not very big & can get very busy. We do hold some tables back for walk-ins but if you are a group please book. Any bookings over 7 have to contact us directly as we can not always accommodate larger groups.
- When do you close?
- We stop serving at 23.00 & kick out is midnight.
- Do you serve food?
- We sometimes serve food if we are having an event so please check our social media @darkbearbar for information. We have a small selection of bar snacks normally.
- Do you serve cask ale?
- Afraid not. We don't have any draught but have a small but good selection of canned or bottled beer. We are a rum forward cocktail bar. We recommend our friends at Pursuit of Hoppiness & The Woodman if you love cask ale!
- Do you just serve rum?
- No. Although we have a rum list of over 200 bottles we have many more spirits as well. At DarkBear rum is our speciality and we love to show off how diverse the spirit is. If you think sweet when you think rum we can definitely change your mind. However we stock many gins, whiskies, tequilas, mezcals, bitters & liqueurs. Want a great martini then no problem.

We didn't have any food but unfortunately there's no 'n/a' option in the questionnaire.
Ambience would have been better had we not been the only guests. Surprisingly empty for a Friday evening. But otherwise, excellent.
