Enjoyed coming here for husband's birthday. Service was very efficient. Probably won't go again, as expensive. A discount would be good, if you are visiting for a special occasion. Only 2 others in restaurant, so a few more people would have helped make more atmosphere. Lovely bonus of staff singing Happy Birthday to my husband & bringing out slice of cake with candle on. This made up for the £7+ service charge added to the bill, which was cheeky, when there was only 2 of us.

We had a delightful dining experience. David the restaurant Manager was fabulous!
He could not have been more attentive. The unique dining concept and delicious menu was great. A good wine list is available and the Brazillian music was at a subtle volume, so we could still enjoy a conversation. This restaurant is upstairs, overlooking Poole Quay, so is an excellent way to enjoy an evening.

We previously ate here in June and again in October and this time was just as good. It was a very blustery, cold night in January and we ate early and the restaurant was quiet. By the time we left the place was buzzing with only a couple of empty seats. The waiting staff were very busy but everyone was served/helped on time and all staff were cheerful throughout. They checked 3 times that we were happy and the manager toured the restaurant frequently making sure things were running smoothly. We will be back!

2nd visit with visiting family, this time with a toddler in our group, highchair provided and lovely table looking out over the water. The food was GOOD. Salad bar bit is my favourite, tomatoes and mozzarella taste better than anywhere else( where do you get those tomatoes?) I’d be happy with just the salad but the meats are really good too, the favourite round our table was the first steak out ( I think sirloin) and the gammon. We had a jug of sangria, very refreshing and after sharing an ice cream ( too full for one each) we were served complimentary rum and limoncello by their lovely staff. Brilliant relaxed early evening family meal served by friendly helpful staff, and they even made a non alcoholic shot for the toddler so he could join in the after dinner tipple! Can’t wait to come back.

The only thing ny boyfriend didn’t like it was the fact that there weren’t lagers available as the waiter told us they didn’t had at least 2 of them and the only option was 1 lager and another cider. Apart from that everything was good and as a suggestion, you should do the green/red cards a bit bigger as they can get confused with the color of the table.

Unfortunately the value for money was quite a lot when you include a service charge. We would have rather given the waiters their own tip rather than the service charge.
We would be unlikely to use this very often as it was such a lot of money for one meal! Nevertheless it was amazing food staff and we loved everything about our evening except the bill!!!!
Also as a suggestion they could do with doing some very small desserts on the buffet as £7-9 for a dessert on top of what we paid was a lot.

I love sambos, I’ve been here 4+ times now. I love the way it works and the salad/side bar is great. The only thing I’m not keen on is the consistency of the honey pork. That was my in my opinion the best meat on the menu it used to be small square cubes, the perfect combo of light crispiness and meat with the best flavour! Yet, every time I’ve been they have never been the same, always different. Also there was no gammon when we came recently which was a shame as my daughter isn’t keen on steaks ect and came for the gammon. I feel at £40 per head people should be informed prior to being seated if something is missing from the menu.

An amazing dining out experience. A warm welcome upon arrival, which extends throughout the unique dining time. A never ending supply of succulent meats carved for you at your table. There is even a traffic light system whereby you show the green card to express your desire for more meat, with a red card letting the staff know you need a breather before more food is brought to you. I now know how Henry VIII felt at his banqueting table! You need to be a meat eater with a serious hunger to enjoy this wonderful restaurant.

Fantastic experience, excellent service and some beautiful meats cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection.
The salad/veg/side dish options were all excellent, a great variety and exceptionally good value for money.
The service was impeccable - attentive without being overbearing. Water and wine were replenished quickly and efficiently when finished.
We were served quite quickly to start with but after a discussion with the waiter that we would prefer to take a little more time, it was listened to and adjusted perfectly. This of course was our personal choice; we wanted to be there a while and feel relaxed and take our time, and I appreciate that isn't everybody's situation, but we felt very accommodated once we mentioned it.
We would highly recommend based on this visit and will definitely be back when back in the area.
(Just some extra feedback following a follow-up visit (24/11, as we loved it so much!) the week after this visit - everything was still excellent, but the meat wasn't as seasoned and some of the selections were cooked more medium/cooked through fully, than the rare/medium-rare that we requested. It was still beautiful, and it absolutely wouldn't put us off revisiting, but the waiter did mention it was a new chef, so we thought we would just mention it.)

Really enjoyed our first visit. I had read reviews before going, and found none of the negatives expressed by others except for value. In respect of value, the wine is overpriced. We had a bottle of Rioca that wasn't at all pleasant. Given that you can have as much food as you like, I can't understand negative reviews of the value of the food. All of the meats were delicious, and well cooked with varying degrees of cooking where appropriate. The buffet was of good quality and adequate. All of the staff were friendly and attentive with no undue waits for anything. I have no objection to a 10% service charge when staff work for it like they do here actually carving and serving the meats. I do however think it's a cheek when some places add this to the bill and all the staff do is bring out a plate of food.

What a wonderful night we had.. came across Sambo by accident while walking along Poole harbour.. booked for 8pm.
The service was excellent and very accommodating.. staff were lovely, friendly & polite,
and the food...... was amazing from the buffet salad bar to the variety of meats that were carved at our table.. my favourite was the minted lamb.. but we found no fault with the different cuts of steak..the garlic chicken.. honey pork..
£39.95 per person and worth every penny. I would truly recommend for a special night out.
