We visited for a Sunday carvery, and it was delicious! The staff, as always, were very friendly, attentive and welcoming.
The food was lovely, and generous servings of meat!
The only improvement I would suggest would be a bigger gravy ladle.

Travel from bridgwater somerset to visit my mother in shaftsbury the crown is a very friendly pub to take my mother best meal so far is the homemade lasagne would reccomend eating here

The place was quite full at lunchtime, with two large groups taking up virtually the whole of the eating area and bar space, but with notice, extra staff on hand, service was excellent and friendly. The food is great, both the homemade pies are made properly with pastry top and bottom and excellent flavour. Our dogs were made welcome under the corner table. It just shows that with good food, good beer and brilliant service news travels fast ! Well done to all of the team.

This is now a great pub, with friendly service, well-kept ales and good food. We met Linny for the first time on our latest visit - she and Cheryl are very friendly and welcoming, as well as being efficient. The only thing that I'd suggest is to have black pepper grinders on the tables.

We much enjoyed the experience. We don't like to waste food but my wife could not finish her steak pie, perhaps smaller ones could be offered - at the same price of course. Overall it was a very pleasant evening, the food was excellent and there was plenty of it and a good variety. Service and staff were also very good. Ambience was only given a lower mark because the dining room was the old skittle alley and, I felt,still felt a bit like that. However, that is a minor point and I would happily return to the pub.

This is a great little pub and having only just moved to the area it was really pleasing to find it. On our first visit on Sunday 23rd July we went for the carvery which was great. However within 4 hours of leaving the pub I was violently sick and had diarrhoea all night. Monday I was washed out and it took all day for me to feel right again. Such a shame as everything was just perfect. We will not be returning.

We took the Father in Law for an early Father’s Day dinner on the Saturday everything was good. Staff were welcoming and no rush the food was exceptional despite the Chef having reservations no complaints from us. The Crown is a very friendly village pub. We have always been welcomed by Jeremy and all his team. Our meals have always been good quality especially the Sunday carvery. The beef was delicious! We will be regular visitors without a doubt

Wonderful selection for breakfast. As it was a self serve selection, some dishes inevitably were slightly over cooked such as the fried eggs and black pudding, but on the whole the dishes were freshly cooked and tasty.
Lovely ambience and excellent service, nothing is too much trouble.

Excellent meal, might need to rethink arrangement of tables given the popularity of the carvery but we will definitely return
