I particularly enjoyed my main course, which was sea bream, in a particular sauce. Everything about our meal was perfect. The service was excellent and the ambience such that we felt welcomed and at ease with our dog. Loos clean. Easy parking. Friendly staff. my husband enjoyed his birthday meal too. Though he did comment on the fact that nearly all the menu choices contained meat. We are pescatarians but a wider choice of vegan options would be nice.

Visited the kings arms during a stay at Portesham dairy farm campsite. Booked a table using the website which was really easy to use. As it was a Sunday I opted for the beef roast dinner and it was superb! All the ingredients were fresh and I loved it all. The roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, the yoyrdhire was a good size and the beef was cooked to perfection plus the veg and gravy was tasty. Not to mention the cauliflower cheese.
The customer service was 10 out of 10. Also dogs are allowed which was an added bonus.

The restaurant was very quiet which we actually enjoyed as we wanted time to chat with friends.
There was a fire alight and comfortable chairs so that we could enjoy sitting and chatting and then move to a well set table.

The food and service was fantastic. But it was very chilly in the restaurant, I kept my scarf on and had my coat over my knees. We sympathise totally with energy costs etc. So didn't say anything. We absolutely love the Kings Arms. We go there every time we're visiting the area ( which is several times per year) and always have a really incredible meal. The staff, ambience, menu and friendliness of the place are something we really appreciate, and the little glass window in the outdoor decking that looks down into the stream is such a lovely touch for summer evenings. The only improvement that could be made is the sticky toffee pudding could be a little more moist... but a very small detail indeed when everything else is so lovely.

On our first visit in January the roast dinner was perfect and great value.
Second visit in March still good value but potatoes maybe reheated and cauliflower cheese not enough sauce. I’m sure we’ll still come back tho.

Lovely pub in a lovely village. Beautiful garden and the clearest chalk stream running through it, with lillies everywhere. Big roomy bar with plenty of tables. Nice staff and good food. Perfect place to eat just before a walk around the Swannery, which is what we did. Would go again. Thanks.

Sunday roast was excellent.

The service was first class and the food came very promptly.
The only suggestion I would make is that when the restaurant is by no means busy diners are spaced out rather than being seated next to the only other couple who were eating at the same time.

The food was very well presented and the vegetable roast was delicious. My son said his fish pie was excellent.

Faultless service in a lovely Inn. The fish and meat meals were delicious. Unfortunately there were very limited options for vegetarians and vegans. The vegetarian risotto proved to be particularly bland. The vegan risotto was even more tasteless. With a little imagination it doesn't need to be so. We would love to return if they will cater fairly for all diners.

Have eaten there a few times and generally the food has been good. Only issue I have is some dishes are overly fussy with exotic ingredients thrown in for no apparent reason. Service was friendly and its a lovely pub.
