Our new and extended dining restaurant, fully licensed bar and cosy coffee shop is a bright and spacious area with a choice of different seating areas for you to enjoy as well as huge lawned gardens which are perfect for a picnic. We’re open 7 days a week and have disabled access, baby changing facilities, free wifi, outside seating and a children’s play area – all with beautiful views across the Blackmore Vale.

Whether you want a Great Udder Breakfast, a light lunch, Sunday roast or an afternoon tea, we serve a wide range of delicious meals and snacks, all freshly cooked to order. We have an extensive Gluten Free menu and are happy to cater for other special dietary requirements – just let us know when you place your order.

Booking Notes:

Please let us know by phone or online if you need to cancel or if you are going to be late. We will hold tables for 15 minutes only, unless we are notified of a delay. Reservations are for indoor tables only. We have over 20 outdoor tables, which you may choose to dine at on arrival. We have a designated outdoor area for diners with dogs, however assistance dogs may accompany their owners anywhere inside or outside.

I have been a regular customer of the udder since first you opened and it feels to me in recent months you have given up on the food entirely. I keep having awful meal after awful meal. I had a jacket potato on Monday, which should be impossible to get wrong. It had been cooked, badly, several hours before and I ordered it with beans. For the second time in a row there was less than 1 tablespoon of beans on the plate. I put them on a tablespoon to check. the food feels cheap. it did not used to.

As always, I was very happy with my food at rudder. The only very slight negative I have are the servers, they are not very observant, whenever you try get someone’s attention they all seem to be standing around chatting to each other.

The service was smashing. Maisie was our main waitress and was charming and helpful as was everyone we came into contact with. Made the whole experience well worthwhile. We had to wait a bit for our food, which was delicious and abundant, but that was probably due to us booking for 1p.m. at the busiest time. So much to recommend to others. Thank you

Fantastic place, group of 10 motorcyclists stopped for lunch on Sunday, loads of parking, very classy clean place. We were made very welcome, served promptly, wide range of food all brought out promptly. Definitely a five star stopping place

It was my birthday and my retirement party took my sister in law it was her first time there she was very impressed with the layout of the restaurant as she uses a walking frame nice gap between the tables also her husband had steak the best steak he has had always clean and tidy

Loved the roast (smaller portion), but disappointed with the dessert. The summer pudding was too sweet and sticky, it should be fresh tasting 'wet' and a little tart. But we're booked again for today!

Booked a table for four for lunch. Service from start to finish was superb even though it was very busy being Easter School holidays. The views from the restaurant over open country side added to the enjoyment. Staff were friendly and efficient with fast service from order to delivery of meals all of which were excellent. We will definitely be returning soon.
