It’s an amazing place! The brisket is something we return over and over again. Good burger and catch of the day. Service is always great and friendly! Recently we didn’t like the newly introduced dish as expectation were different from reality. I appreciated that it was resolved quickly and in a friendly manner. It would be nice if you have a picture of the dish to understand in advance what I ordered. Other than that, great restaurant!

Not only is the food delicious, but the restaurant itself is charming. That applies to the indoors as well as the patio. It is a great place to dine with friends. Jay remembers us when my group of friends comes into the restaurant. This past Sunday, we had Eggs Benedict Oscar and Beignets, we also had the pleasure of meeting Anthony! You must give this restaurant a try!

I’ve been to Succotash a few times and it never disappoints. The food is consistently good. Portions are generous without being overwhelming. Our party of 4 each ordered something different. Fried items were just right - just the right amount of breading, not too greasy, not over or under cooked. Seafood was cooked just right. Beans were nicely flavored, as was the remoulade sauce. Didn’t feel rushed. Nice experience.

live in raleigh but was at med appt at Duke. Atmosphere was pleasant. appetizer- cauliflower. really good. fried chicken was crisp and not oily. loved the Thai hot sauce with the chicken! Red beans and rice was great! the succotash-i got mine with grilled eggplant on top- was great and the desserts all great. my fav was the lemon pound cake.... will return with friends next time!

Delicious food with good portion size served with friendly prompt service, Glad to see Jay had a little extra assistance, Everyone seemed to be working together for a very good dining experience, The only thing lacking was the availability of a Bloody Mary or other NOLA drinks, but the tasty beignets made up for that.

The restaurant is cute but was warm— not the fault of the restaurant as it is 100+ degrees outside right now. The food was delicious and our server was awesome. Very friendly and sweet to my 85 year old mother. Not too loud in there either but we seemed to get there at a good time as the time we were heading out was when it started to get crowded. I would definitely come back for the tasty food and food service!

The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every bite! Would readily eat here again baes on food quality. Two issues, one smaller and one larger. The smaller is that we were seated in a corner out of the AC flow and were a little too warm, especially given the hot outdoors. I’m sure no one from the staff ever sat there and realized there was no air flow, so that, at least, is understandable. The larger issue was really inattentive service. We had to ask twice to get water refilled, and empty dishes and beer cans/bottles were not removed so the table became overly crowded. When a younger staff member finally filled our water, he wasn’t paying attention and overflowed a glass so our legs got doused; fortunately it was just water. When we asked for extra napkins to dry off, the waitress brought towels to wipe the spill on the floor-not extra napkins. Took a long time for the waitress to check on us, took a long time to get the check, etc. Just not paying attention. We feel like a service manager or some other oversight of the dining room would be a good addition. When we’ve eaten here before we didn’t have this issue, so hopefully our next visit will have better service.

It was our first time visiting Succotash. The food was wonderful. I really enjoyed everything we ordered - seafood jumbo, shrimp & grits, beignets, chicken club, benedict. However, we had to wait nearly an hour for our food. We had a 1:30 resv for Sunday brunch, were seated promptly, but waited several minutes before a server came and shared the specials and left, then several more minutes before she returned to take our orders, and then it was 2:30 before our food arrived. It didn't seem like the main dining room was that full (idk what the back dining area looked like). Our waitress was very helpful and polite, but the wait time was so long that it made it hard to appreciate the service. Also, it seemed kind of loud considering the number of people in the dining area. Overall, I would want to return (the food matters most to me), but my wife and daughter - not so much.
