I had the best Birthday and I was so happy to have spent it at Dem Shish with my friends! The staff were polite and accommodating, food was served promptly. The live singer was talented, and even though we sat right next to her, the music was not overbearing. The food was delicious, most of us had lamb, some had chicken dishes, but it was simply divine. And everyone surprised me by singing Happy Birthday, I was flattered, and the pistachio chocolate cake was delicious. Also came with a big sparkler! Thank you all so much for making my day so special! The only improvement I would suggest is to make the floor to the toilets a bit less slippery - my shoes had no grip and I was close to slipping as it's polished laminate. Otherwise, the restaurant's ambiance and décor were gorgeous, especially the malachite-inspired walls. :)

Excellent customer service from start to finish. The place was packed which is great and the staff were all cool calm and collected and genuinely looked they were enjoying the night too. My only comment would have to be the expense. Prices there have risen significantly. Understandably it’s sign of the times and I know something you can’t control. The main issue I have with that is that I can’t afford to come more often. But brilliant all round. My son thoroughly enjoyed his birthday meal. Thank you

A nice cozy restaurant serving Turkish food. Brought my wife here on a date night while on holiday in Eastbourne. It was a quaint, interesting ambiance. Had a relaxed vibe.
Their Negroni was one of the Best we've had. The Blue Ocean was okay.
Our starters - calamari, which was fresh, tender (not rubbery) and fried in a light batter; aubergine cold mezze - creamy and light served alongside a lovely chili sauce and Turkish bread (like a crispy naan).
Our shared Main: lamb shank - tender, flavourful, and simply seasoned to highlight the quality of the meat.
Pricing - reasonable

The restaurant was very busy but there were plenty of staff to look after everyone. We were warmly welcomed and given a choice of tables. The server brought iced water with lemon straight away and then took our drinks order. The menu is well laid out and there’s plenty of choice. Everything was beautifully prepared and served as usual. Service is efficient but friendly and we didn’t feel rushed. The musical entertainment was good, although we thought it was a bit louder than previously. However it was not overly intrusive.
We look forward to our next visit.

This is an authentic Turkish restaurant with easy access from public transport and good on street parking.
The staff are very amiable, courteous and professional. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. The six of us cleared our plates!
They have live music in the evenings but unobtrusive music at lunchtime.

We were attracted by the lunch menu and 2-for-1 cocktails on Thursdays. Lovely decor. Excellent service. My first test for any Turkish restaurant is "Do they serve raki?" and they do, properly. The food was hot and tasty and plenty. The wine range is good. Parking is easy, although at busier times you may have to walk a short distance. We will certainly return for lunch again, but may avoid evenings. There seems to be live music most nights, so if that's your thing, enjoy.

A great night out. The place was teeming even on Monday night and the music was a pleasant surprise. Maybe the sound level could be lowered a bit. A great place to eat with lovely food and good smiling service!

Fab food, great service. The special was fantastic. A bit too much for 2 people but was given a doggy bag to take left overs home. Definitely will be my go to restaurant whenever I go to Eastbourne. Shame there isn't one closer to me.

My ratings speak for themselves. I had the chicken shish and enjoyed the light smokey flavor. My partner had two mezes (falafel and sigura) and rated them both highly. The only negative on the evening was that the sound level of the music when we arrived was too high for our comfort, but the staff promptly turned the sound down and it was fine after. So I'd also add 10 for responsiveness.
