Bizarre experience! We had pre-booked our table for two online. However, when we arrived the couple in front of us were greeted and seated, but we were ignored despite staff standing leaning against the bar. When the staff member finally came over we gave him our booking name which he was unable to locate. He then pointed to a table but didn't take us to the table or provide us with a menu. Sat for quite a while before another member of staff came over with menus. The restaurant was not busy, only about one third full. Our drinks arrived after our starters. After our main course, we were wanting to order dessert. We sat for 45 minutes with empty plates, unable to attract the attention of any member of staff, one of whom was more interested in singing and clapping along at the bar with the live music duo. I had to stand up and move towards her to eventually gain her attention. By this time we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. So in summary, the food was pretty tasty but the service left a lot to be desired.

The food was amazing. But we booked a table and turned up to no table and when they did find us one we were left without enough seats! We had to find our own so we could all sit down. We had to find waiters to order more drinks. It was a double birthday celebration and was sent out two pieces of cake when they sing happy birthday, to then be charged nearly £10 each for them?!

This is an authentic Turkish restaurant with easy access from public transport and good on street parking.
The staff are very amiable, courteous and professional. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. The six of us cleared our plates!
They have live music in the evenings but unobtrusive music at lunchtime.
We will definitely be returning for another feast.

Evening out with the ladies at Dem Shish. We were made to feel very welcome, staff were all very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Dem Shish has a really great atmosphere.
The live music was a bonus.
The food was really good, fresh and tasty and the service was excellent.
20% off the bill did not hurt either.
The portion sizes are really generous, we had 3 starters, I main and and a salad between us and it was plenty

We were a group of 11 for lunch. Orders were taken and drinks served after a while. Food arrived after about 50 mins wait. Food was average, a generic Mediterranean stew that I cook regularly at home. No one asked if we wanted more drinks. Eventually menus were given to us for dessert but nobody returned to take an order for desserts or coffee. Some of the party would have had a dessert, most wanted coffee too but we eventually gave up waiting for service. It took 2.5 hours to serve one course. It was very noisy and very cold sitting next to the window. In summary bad service and average food. Would I return? Unlikely.

On first impressions we thought we would have a great eve! When the cold mezze arrived for our starter it was ok, as were the mojitos ! However our main course was stone cold so we had to send it back, the waitress did come over and apologise and told us the kitchen were cooking it all fresh for us! Not sure how fresh I would call either microwaving or grilling out exact same cold food and giving it to us . We ordered a second round of drinks which never arrived and after ordering these 4 times they eventually came. As a gesture the second drinks were taken off the bill but really stone cold food should not have been served and certainly should have been cooked fresh again, in all fairness as this was not the case I feel the food should have been heavily discounted on the bill too .
We paid and were just sorting ourselves out only to be greeted at our table by a waiter asking us how our evening had been! we thought he was going to apologise for such a disappointing experience, but unfortunately this was not the case he was simply asking us to vacate the table as it was booked ! Perhaps if we had not had to wait for our food to be sent back and come again we would have been finished earlier . Disgraceful, a fitting end to a terrible meal . Would not recommend nor would I return. Great shame as it has potential!

Sat in the empty back half of the restaurant, despite having booked. Took 20 mins just to get drinks. Couple next to us arrived at the same time & ate & left before we’d even had our starters - turned the waiter hadn’t sent our order through to the kitchen. Felt like I sat there saying “excuse me” all evening as they then forgot the bread to go with the dips, then the olive oil & salt my friend asked for to go with her salad. We were given a round of drinks & 20% off the bill but it was disappointing as id been before & received amazing service & raved to my dinner guests about it!

Ona previous visit I would have scored 10 for everything. This time we were seated next to some foul-mouthed drunks, 2 of our starters were delayed, 1 starter was forgotten, 2 main courses were delayed, and 2 drinks forgotten. Excellent customer service from start to finish. The place was packed which is great and the staff were all cool calm and collected and genuinely looked they were enjoying the night too. My only comment would have to be the expense. Prices there have risen significantly. Understandably it’s sign of the times and I know something you can’t control. It’s a shame the entrance to restaurant looks a bit rundown and shabby when the inside is beautiful ? The Ladies loos weren’t the sparkliest. But all in all the food etc was fab

This was my 3rd time visiting and still so satisfied with each visit. Rhe food is incredible, service is efficient, warm and friendly and atmosphere is buzzing. Been varied times of the week and each time there been a different form of entertainment and its been great! I'm always recommending you guys!!

2nd time at Dem Shish, 1st time just after it opened and I gave it a 5/5 review on Google.
This time quite disappointed. The service was let down by the fact that our server, was trying to cover too many tables and her understanding of the dishes was limited. She was quite abrupt although I don't think it was personal, more her nature. The food was way down on our last visit. The starters came and were good but breads arrived about 5 minutes later, as a number of our party like the breads for the dios and sauces, we had to wait, which meant those of us who had hot mezzes ended up with lukewarm food. Eg my kofti meatballs were barely warm by the time I started eating. The main course was worse. It had obviously been sitting for a while and again some of it was only lukewarm. And the ribs and meat on the dem shish special and mixed shish was hard and tough as were the lamb Kebabs. Because we were a party of 13 with 4 kids there, we ate it rather than sent it back. After finishing this and waiting for some time we had to call the waitress for desserts. When we asked for desserts the waitress seemed surprised that we wanted desserts. Then a long wait for the arrival.
As I say the staff seemed overstretched so I understand the wait but the food was very disappointing.
Unfortunately, this was a total reversal against our last visit, and I was upset because I had recommended Dem Shish over other choices from some members of our party.
I hope yesterday was an exception and it improves and goes back to the high values of my first visit.

The only negative was the live music. It was good but too loud which meant the noise level went up across the whole restaurant. I was unable to hear people on my table. Apart from that everything was excellent.

Food could have been hotter and freshly cooked. Not sure what kind of baklawa they served us? I've seen eating baklawa since I was a kid and rest assured that was NOT.

Great atmosphere and lovely food. Drinks service a little slow and we did ask twice for Jaegar shots but we never got them so gave up. We did mention this when paying the bill at the end and they just grinned. Boss had left so was a bit unorganised as had to pay at the bar which was a not very professional really..

Lovely food and asmosphere, slightly ruined by being squashed between 2 big tables. The waitresses didn’t even have room to easily get between us. Service was unorganised and uncomfortable for us as customers. Asked for pudding menus and never received them.

Staff were lovely and so welcoming, atmosphere was fabulous and food was divine.
Came for an evening out with my husband, we had a lovely evening and enjoyed cocktails and the dj after our meal. Highly recommend !!!!
