The space inside at Dill is, in and of itself, very simple but the table set up makes it an intimate space which is conducive to chatting with other diners which makes for a lovely, sociable experience.
The service was exceptionally friendly and the staff were very knowledgeable.
The food was delicious - the trout dish in particular - and we finished off with an Absinthe 'ceremony' which was great fun!
Dill is a hugely welcome addition to the food scene in Lewes and is brilliant value for money.

The size of small plates varies enormously, which is difficult to judge and to order.
Want to take my daughter but she is only available lunchtime during week. So sadly my booking was cancelled. I would have liked to try the celeriac main dish but at £32 was too much. My partner is a meat eater so unlikely to share.

We've lived in lewes for 30 years or so and this really was the very best meal we've ever had when eating out. From start to finish we loved everything we had to eat and the buzzy atmosphere and vibrant staff made us feel totally relaxed and at ease. the only thing we thought might improve things would be to be able to order wine by the carafe ........

Excellent food - highly recommend. Only downside was the wait at the beginning - an hour before we got our first dish, once the service started it was nicely timed. If they had given us an indication of the wait time we would have ordered some bread or snacks to be going on with.

A gem of a place for foodies. We had walked past Dill on a previous evening and thought it looked interesting. When we went there to eat it was fabulous. The prices are very reasonable and yet the food is in a different league to any regular restaurant. It is proper food, absolutely delicious and a taste sensation. There is plenty of choice so if some of the menu items are not to your taste then there is no problem. We will definitely be back and consider it a great find. Do go before it becomes so popular that you can't book.
