We had a family carvery. Food was very tasty and enjoyable. For a small amount of meat that was served i thought £21 was rather expensive for a Sunday carvery. The waitress could have been a bit happier and cheerful. Nice pub and atmosphere.

Our food was delicious - we shared the squid starter then had liver and bacon and a turkey and ham pie. Large portions, we couldn't manage a pud, and the beer was lovely. Great service too. We went early, 6.30, on a Saturday of a Bank Holiday weekend and were the only customers there, hopefully it got busier later. Will definitely return.

The Manager was working his socks off and very helpful. The staff seemed could do with some server training, such as noticing when people are trying to catch their eye at an adjacent table, clearing plates when finished etc. Delicious vegetables at the carvery.

Unfortunately, we were the only customers in the pub for the first ½ - 1 hour, when 3 more people came in, which meant there was no atmosphere. The food was good and piping hot and service excellent, being the only table!

I have been to the Rainbow often before but this visit was disappointing. I ordered the turkey and pork from the roast menu. I was hoping for some crackling with my pork but the skin was like leather and inedible. We had a good choice of veg but the cauliflower was hard and undercooked and the Yorkshire pudding was deflated on the plate also the food wasn't very hot and we were some of the first customers to eat there. At no point were we asked if we were enjoying our meal either. Overall it was mediocre. Come on Rainbow, pull your socks up, you can do better than that!!

Our vegetables were not as nice as they have been before. Parsnips were hard, roast potatoes were large and not crispy. Gravy wasn’t thick and tasty as before. Staff were friendly and efficient
