We've eaten for years at the Filmhouse and usually enjoy it - very happy to see the chickpea curry still on the menu. But sadly the aubergine tzatziki was really weird - far too sweet - our friend thought it was a dessert! So hope you can re think this one.

We were pleased to be back to the Cafe/Bar. A good experience as always. It was helpful to be able to book, as we've occasionally had to walk away on a busy Friday evening - although good to have the walk in option. My husband thought his meal was wonderful (chicken/red cabbage- can't remember the name.) Mentioned it again today! My nachos were as good as I remember them, but a huge portion I couldn't finish - might a half portion be possible on this one? Thanks to all. L.M.

I enjoyed my filo pastry parcels but my friend had to send back her chicken shawarma as it was cold. The 2nd was hot enough but unfinished as we both thought the cinnamon was overpoweringly strong. The service was faultless.

So good to be back at the Filmhouse! The service and safety measures were first rate, food good but inevitably not the usual range of choices. I liked the safety of disposable paper menus and social distancing. Like everyone else, I wish things were 'normal' and the FH had its usual bustle and chatter, but you're doing a great job under the circumstances. Good luck and stay safe.

My daughter and I had a very enjoyable lunch yesterday at The Filmhouse Cafe Bar, in a relaxed and safe environment. Our chilli nachos were delicious...although neither of us could finish the very generous portion! I won't hesitate to book again soon. Thank you.

One of our favourite places to eat in Edinburgh. Very happy that the lamb shawarma has returned to the menu!
Only complaint is that the extensive fan ventilation means that most of the tables are slightly draughty.

We miss the 'specials' that used to be on and notified on the wall above the bar. The current menu seems to be fixed at least as far as the vegetarian options are concerned so not much variety if you use the cafe a lot.

Lovely first post-lockdown experience.
Was met and escorted to my table by a member of staff who explained to me the Cafe/Bar rules (which are available on the FH website). My order was taken and delivered to me in good time.
The Cafe/Bar wasn't so busy probably due to the weather and that it was a Sunday but still had a good ambience.
Staff were friendly, very attentive and couldn't be more helpful.
More than happy to visit again and suspect the experience will be just as good!

Most aspects were fine, given current restrictions, and the staff very attentive. The limited menu is frustrating though probably inevitable, however £5 for a salad served in a small dish - more like a side salad - was particularly poor value.
