Are dogs allowed inside?: No, it's assistance dogs only due to the restricted space but dogs are welcome at our outdoor tables.
Can I get a window table?: We use an automated table allocation system, which allocates tables based on availability and party size. It fills the window seats first, so booking in advance means you are more likely to get a window table.
Do you have vegan or vegetarian options?: Yes, please ask your server for details.
Do you have gluten-free options?: Yes, please ask your server for details.
How do I book a table?: The quickest and easiest way to book a table is by using our online booking system. If you have a problem with it, then you could try calling but we are often too busy to answer the phone.
Can I come just for a drink?: Yes, if you just want drinks and nibbles that's fine. We have a good selection of wines, beers and cocktails.
Can I see the menu?: We are currently in the process of updating our menus but we will publish them soon.
What time do you open?: We are open for lunch from 12 noon. We may decide to open for breakfast at some point in the future.
Do you do takeaway?: Yes, we have a takeaway section offering a selection of fish and seafood. Oscar's multi award-winning gelato is also available for takeaway and we have great coffee.

Had a lovely meal at Joppa Rocks. We all had fish and chips. Lovely big fish. Our waiters were friendly and attentive. Asked for a window seat which we were given. Will certainly be back.

Delighted to find this place so close to home exceeding our expectations. Stunning setting with panoramic views along the Forth (on a clear day anyway) & thoughtful, unfussy decor inside. Staff were both attentive & efficient yet naturally easy going & welcoming. Menu is well suited to the surroundings with the focus on seafood - all done especially well, judging from what our table of five ordered at least - but other dishes with some Mediterranean influence are thoughtfully added & very well prepped & presented… and above all very tasty indeed… Thanks for a great lunch! Will be back for sure.

As usual Joppa Rocks met our high expectations in all aspects. Both waitresses were very attentive. The food was delicious. Even on a weekday evening there were enough people to ensure a nice atmosphere and on a cold night it was nice and warm, something that is not always the case in other restaurants. We will return.

We had a great experience at Joppa, and would highly recommend it. Our waitress Beth, was super nice and took good care of us, always with a smile. (thanks Beth!) The food was delicious and even though it was a bit empty (to be fair we went quite early as we were going with kids...), the restaurant is lovely, clean and very well decorated. Also, the views are amazing! I will definitely come back!

A fantastic dining experience. My son and I had the Portugese fish dish between us, and honestly, there was enough for 3 people. The service was exceptional. The view is fantastic. Although we both had as much as we could eat,and a bottle of wine, we didn't feel bloated or any ill effects. I think that was because the food was so fresh,and the restaurant was relaxed and unhurried. The lovely walk back along the prom made it a perfect evening. Thank you Joppa Rocks

Only deducted a point as the mussels and lamb were overcooked which was very slightly disappointing. A fantastic meal for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent and the service was super. They accommodated us bringing a birthday cake and even gave us plates to enjoy a piece after our meal. The birthday girl also go a free ice cream. I wasn’t keen on the chip shops chips as I don’t think they go well with anything other than chippy food. The starters were quite small for the price too. Overall although we had a fantastic experience and would recommend. The view is worth it alone.

Only had a starter (scallops and green bean puree) which was tasty but the scallops were tiny, so felt expensive for what I got. My friend had the sea food chowder which she thought was delicious and value for money. The glasses of wine were competitively priced. The service was excellent. Although we didn't mind being the only ones upstairs it did mean there was a lack of atmosphere (on a wet Thursday lunchtime) - though the decor and views are really lovely. It is one of my local restaurants, so I will continue to support it and wish it well.

The meal was excellent. Sufficient choice to satisfy my daughter who loved her langustines as well as impressed she got chippy sauce as soon as she asked while my son and I enjoyed oysters and fish main courses. View lovely shame it was cloudy but can’t do anything about the weather! It was fairly quiet so ambience pleasant but not ‘stand out’

Joppa Rocks is a fairly new restaurant and this was our first visit. Overall it was very positive, it exceeded my expectations and I would go back again. The staff were polite and helpful, the food was well prepared and tasty and the views from the restaurant are amazing. It was quite busy for a Monday. My only criticisms are that the portion sizes were quite small, and the choice of desserts was limited to ice creams and ice-cream derivatives. Price wise it's not cheap but still reasonable value for what you get.

Lovely venue. Sea-bream was excellent. Haddock and chips not as good as expected. Fresh or frozen?Plain peas looked cheap- peas mashed with a little butter/fresh mint would look better. Green Salad looks better in a bowl- looked flat on the plate. Wishing you success.

We had a lovely table next to the upstairs window and the view was wonderful. The decor of the restaurant is very tasteful. We enjoyed our meal very much. There were four us and one person had to wait a while for his main course but the waiter apologised and took that charge off the bill. Think it was just an opening day slip up. A fabulous venue and we will certainly return.

Fantastic restaurant and a great addition to Joppa. Food was great. Tzatziki a little too garlicky for my liking, but seafood was great and cooked to perfection. Service a little rough around the edges but made up for it in willingess to put the small issues right. A little pricey for the standard of service. However with smooth and seamless service it would be maybe towards the top end of what I'd expect to pay for a restaurant with fantastic views and great food.

Hi it was okay the chips were cold they were meant to be triple cooked but they were just plain chips and the sauce in langoustine's was also cold, sourdough bread could have been softer. The portion of scallops was very small i know it was a starter but the size of the scallops was tiny in comparison to the cost of £14

Cold restaurant unfortunately. Waiter brought expresso coffee when americano was ordered. We paid but another wanted us to pay again in an empty place. Cullin skink was tasty but was served on a cold plate so was tepid. Just the small important matters need to change, training of staff on the small points ? to make this a great local gathering point. Still expecting better service …….

Nice restaurant but unfortunately the food didn’t live up to expectations. We had to send one dish back because it was over cooked and we took one dish home so we could cook it! The waitress was lovely but slow. We had to go and find her to pay the bill. We’ll wait a wee while to go again, maybe when its a bit more established.

Starters were really lovely. Our main (fish and chips) was basically chippy chips - not nearly as ‘special’ as the last time when the same dish was presented more as a restaurant quality meal with different chips. Was a bit disappointed but overall we still had a nice lunch.

We had a lovely evening at Joppa Rocks. Our waitress was delightful, efficient and friendly. My only comment on food is that my smoked salmon starter had very little fish and way too many salad leaves. Apart from that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the meal.

Service was a bit slow but it didn’t bother us as we were out for a leisurely lunch which we got, but some customers may not look on it favourably.

Thanks Helen. All of our dishes are cooked to order, and at peak times this can sometimes mean a longer wait. We're definitely not a 'fast food' establishment. We allocate 2 hours for each table and longer for large groups. We want our customers to relax and enjoy the views and each other's company.

Very well warming , got taken to our seats buy Olivia. Lovely sea views . Olivia was also our server & was very nice & chatty. Our food was lovely. We had prawn tempura with banana dip & the mussels with brown bread. We had the Portuguese stew that served 2 which was lovely. Felt it could have had more tuna in it. As we only got 2 tiny pieces each. But it was very tasty.

Food was good but expensive for what it was. Effectively a falafel toasted wrap (and it was a little cold) but the service and views made up for it as we had a lovely experience. The wine was fab and it is a great addition to the area. I worry that price points may keep people away.

I went on the second night of opening, the staff were very nice and food excellent but just a couple of things, my peas were cold with the haddock, the prawns my friend had were not that warm. The waiter started clearing our plates before we were all finished and not a great selection on the desserts. But all very small things and our overall experience was it is an excellent restaurant, we will definitely be back and the location is awesome.
