First time I’ve been in since the venue became Mecanta and was beyond impressed. The setup is really user friendly and the staff is excellent. Popped in for cake and coffee (both of which are indulgent and drool-inducing) only to see an extremely cracking menu which I am keen to return to try!

Had to sit with coats on while eating due to it being very cold. They did very kindly put a wee heater on but this did not make a difference. Was a cold day & due to COVID they had to keep door open. Not sure how to fix but I brought a friend as I raved about it & don’t think she was impressed.

We booked a table for two people and also brought along two small dogs as well.
We booked the dog friendly area, when we arrived we were directed to the front of the venue facing a blank grey wall with very little space for the dogs. The place (small ledge) was where our food and drinks were placed… not big enough!
We kept our small dogs in their baskets as this area is right next to the entrance, and the dogs were distracted by every person who entered and moved around this space.
We are still training our 9 mth old pups to get used to being in dog friendly venues, we hoped to do some ‘place’ training on their mats, this wasn’t possible.
If we had been in the area behind the entrance we would have been able to do this.
The food was delicious, hot and not a crumb was left on the plate
