We called into The Crown Inn for the Sunday carvery. It was everything we expected. From the moment we stepped in the door the staff were great, very friendly and attentive, without being too in your face. The food was delicious and plenty of it. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will pop in next time we’re passing that way for sure.

Fish was a little dry but the rest of 6 mains, 6 starters and desserts and coffee just lovely!! Great food - especially rate the goats cheese and black pudding starter. Chilli prawns another hit.

Had to ask for a menu 5 mins after being shown to our table. Food was great and served within a reasonable time limit although it was a little pricey and there were no offers available to us. I also had to ask for a steak knife with my steak however we still enjoyed it and will be back, but the little things do make a big difference. A little ambient music would’ve been nice as there were speakers on the wall but not to worry we still had a nice evening.

I believe either the staff were severely under pressure or they were new starts. I understand given the times that service will take some time to return to customer expectations. However that being said being asked what course we were on by the waitress and also waiting over 30 minutes for our food order to be taken is somewhat beyond expectation. The food however and as always was brilliant! In terms of improvements and/or things that could change for next time? Maybe designated waitresses/waiters to designated areas. It sort of felt like a free for all and lots of confusion was caused as a result of that. We will as always return.. Thanks.
