There was four of us at the table and the food was all excellent for three out of four of us... unfortunately it was my food that was the problem. I ordered the slow roast lamb shank which I have had on several occasions and loved... but unfortunately not this time...the meat was not delicious and tender or falling off the bone as it usually does....nope this tough little lamb shank refused to comply and was slightly greasier than expected...but this was unusual for The Crown, so I forgive whoever was in charge of this dish.. as everything else was, including the staff, absolutely gorgeous, as was the lovely tapas and the fresh baked bread which was amazing...just a shame I was driving and couldn't have the Malbec my sister was slurping. Anyway thanks for your lovely hospitality hope to see you all again soon... Joan Knight x

A great meal, it was my partner's birthday and she really enjoyed her choice of steak pie, said it was the best that she'd ever had. I had haggis, neeps and tatties and that was just as good. Added to this, the West Brewery beer was excellent as was the chocolate fudge cake dessert and the waiting staff were lovely, made sure that we had everything that we needed and were attentive and very polite. The Crown Inn is a credit to Biggar, I've never had anything less than a top class experience here. Thank you!

Wow, what a place, if you haven’t booked for Sunday lunch, don’t go! They could have filled that place twice over with the amount of people they turned away! The carving was beautiful, so were the seconds, if passing through Biggar I’d definitely go back.

An excellent Sunday dinner with the family. Great range of options on the menu. We all went for different things. I found the Stornoway Black Pudding with Goat's Cheese starter to be delicious. Note, The Crown is dog-friendly so you don't have to leave your pooch at home. Ours sat peacefully under the table and was rewarded with the bones from some chicken wings.

Everything was perfect until the table next to us was seated 2 people with there dogs they kept letting of wind which was not really a good place to be when your trying to eat food there shoud be a separate area for dogs as i dont have a problem with dogs just the smell when your trying to eat is off putting

Thanks again for another great meal, we have never had a bad meal at the crown and I would have rated the food 10 as always as 99.9% of the food we had on Saturday was a definite 10. The only reason I have said 9 is because the sticky toffee pudding of one of the sweets had big bits of uncooked dough inside it. I wouldn’t normally have said anything because it’s wasn’t an issue but just wanted to let you know so you are aware and don’t get anyone else mentioning this. But on a whole, another lovely night at the crown was had by all x
