Everything was perfect until the table next to us was seated 2 people with there dogs they kept letting of wind which was not really a good place to be when your trying to eat food there shoud be a separate area for dogs as i dont have a problem with dogs just the smell when your trying to eat is off putting

Thanks again for another great meal, we have never had a bad meal at the crown and I would have rated the food 10 as always as 99.9% of the food we had on Saturday was a definite 10. The only reason I have said 9 is because the sticky toffee pudding of one of the sweets had big bits of uncooked dough inside it. I wouldn’t normally have said anything because it’s wasn’t an issue but just wanted to let you know so you are aware and don’t get anyone else mentioning this. But on a whole, another lovely night at the crown was had by all x

Excellent food in a lovely setting. I had the rib eye and it was perfect. My husband had the pork chop and he loved it. I had sticky toffee pudding with custard for dessert for the first time and it was delicious, though I couldn’t eat all of it because I ate the entire 8 ounce steak. But no excuses…it was great. If we lived nearby (we are from California) we would be here often. I heartily recommend it!!!

Fantastic meal, great value for money, returned the next day for lunch. Great looking pub instead and out and really clean and lots of great old photos. The only thing I would say was the hanging baskets and flower boxes outside were bone dry and dying off due to lack of water which was a shame to see. The Crown Inn is absolutely great! I have never been to a pub/restaurant in Scotland with so many options of vegetarian/vegan food. And everything tasted fantastic!

We stopped at the Crown enroute to the borders to have lunch . The Sunday carvery was supberb a choice of 5 meats and lovely selection of vegetables. We even had seconds !!! Friendly service from all the waiters and a lovely chat with the manager. Would definitely recommend and would stop again if we are in the area.

I was annoyed with tableagent as the crown had no record of my online booking. Thankfully they had a table but this could have caused me a journey of 30 minutes and no table. Not a good service from you.

The food and service are of the best quality at the Crown. The different seating areas have been laid out perfectly, creating an overall sense of depth which has developed the space perfectly. Hadn’t visited for a number of years but my memories of this classic pub were very good,,,, it’s even better now and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Two us had the Chicken Fajitas. Delicious! Only criticism would be the pancakes were a bit large & too filling.
The sauce with the chicken was so delicious I had to force myself to finish it, despite being full!
