It was fortunate that we had reserved a table for Thursday lunch as the pub was really full.
The welcome was warm and friendly and the service was first rate.
All three of us had the Porcetta, stuffed with chorizo and sausage meat, which was excellent.
A great venue, but making a reservation would be wise!

We’ve visited the Coach and horses around Christmas for 2 years running. You can’t fault it in all aspects, it’s a beautiful pub in a really nice area a little distance from Saffron Walden so places to park. it has a real fire super staff who never harass you and are pleasant and welcoming. They just allow you plenty of time to make choices and chat. The food is devine. I had the macaroni cheese and it was really tasty. We also had a chowder as another preference and everybody really really enjoyed the food, the ambience and experience. Well done you set the standard high for other establishments.

Table of 4 and chosen food was the fish & chips, sea bass, chicken burger and bacon egg & chips. Out of the 4 meals the only one not enjoyed very much was the bacon but this was down to the pineapple chutney and personal taste not the actual food itself. Staff were friendly, some restaurants you can tell the staff do not want to be there but this was not the case here. No rush to get you out, table booked for 6:30 and we didn't leave until gone 11:30. Considering we were not drinking as we were all driving they even offered us water after we had settled our bill. Have been here before and would definitely go back again.
