Fantastic service and lovely food! only compliant is where we were sitting there was a speaker right above us which was loud for us (don’t think it would have bothered the other tables) however food and service more than make up for this! the server James was an absolute star, as was Karen (all staff were lovely), they really made our night! talked to my son about santa and even gave him a gift! they were just fabulous!

After being taken over by new owners I wasn’t sure what to expect; but one of the new owners was going around the tables and chatting with regulars to see what experience they would love to have at Uplawmoor, he assured us that all previous staff were staying and that he would only be adding to the rota, as usual the food was incredible, especially for the value, looking forward to seeing any changes on our next visits!

Excellent service and food was very good. At our time of dining there was a table who could be overheard complaining about a dish. The suggestion could be made to customers when ordering if anyone has any allergies. Then this would safe the server from any hassle. They can I turn advise the chef and kitchen. Otherwise our experience was first class.

First time dining at the hotel after a recommendation from a friend. Really enjoyed our lunch, good choice for kids quick and friendly service. Fish and chips was delicious, super crispy batter! Ice cream sundaes absolutely phenomenal.
Bit strange to be "face to face" with another group of diners in the middle of the restaurant. But good that the place was busy.
Look forward to returning. Wonder if there's thoughts about a set lunch menu or a Sunday roast in the future??

I am sorry that you did not like where you sat. We used to have small tables in that section of Bar, because we do have a mxture of different sized parties we do think having 2 bigger tables in that section. We do a lunch menu during the week. On a sunday we do have a Sunday roast at a price of £13.95. It is normally Topside of Beef with all the trimmings. We do look forward to welcoming you back to the Hotel in the future. The venue is nice and comfortable, service is excellent can’t fault it at all. The taster menu (£10 Facebook) soup was overly salty, the bread on the bruschetta was burned around the edges and overpowered by the amount of onion. The mash was like a purée. The macaroni tasted amazing but could have been slightly thicker but tasted lovely. Overall for £10 the value was ok. I would come back for the Mac and cheese.

The restaurant is dated and badly needs a refurb and was a bit cold and uninviting.
Bar might have been a better option for a meal.

The service was amazing, the food was ok but not as good as it’s been in the past.The restaurant had no atmosphere and was very cold but we were the only people in it, to be fare we normally eat in the bar where the atmosphere in normally really good, but to be fair it was me that book the wrong place on-line.
We did not ask to be moved as we didn’t want to be a bother but I feel to be honest would have been not a problem. But we will no doubt be back but definitely in the bar. Thank you so much to the waitress that served us.
