We had a lovely lunch. Recently moved to Grand Junction and stopped by the Cafe on our way to the wild horse range. A perfect outing.

As locals, we are thrilled to love Palisade Cafe! We visited early Saturday evening. The staff was excellent and very friendly. The cafe works well as a small town restaurant but with superb food and wine. We ordered an appetizer that was marvelous called Root fries Medley of fried roots tossed with rosemary, drizzled with honey, sprinkled with Sage Creations lavender. The roots came out quickly and we enjoyed a nice local bottle of Chardonnay along with them. For my main dish I ordered Autumn Salad of fresh greens with roasted winter squash, sweet corn, pickled onions, heirloom carrots, wine and maple infused aguaymanto berries with avocado vinaigrette on the side. Excellent! Unusual but not weird. And because I had a nice, healthy meal, I was rewarded with fresh peach pie with lavender vanilla ice cream. This place is a winner. Looking forward to going back soon.
