The food was excellent. We had the Friday night steak special. Cooked perfectly for each of our four meals. Nice side of Asparagus.
For an extremely remote lodge and restaurant the food was way above average. Absolutely no reason to even consider leaving the lodge or bringing your own meal.
Could even be a special meal if your within driving distance.

We loved out nights at AML... so much so we're giving a weekend to our daughter and her husband for his birthday! Room was great, finishings high quality, very comfortable bed. Dinner burgers were very good, but wine list... well, it is a beer-oriented bar :). Road up, which had us a bit apprehensive, was in perfect shape... second night coming back at dusk, four elk bounded across the road and stood staring at us. All in all, very happy to have found AML.

This was our second year going up there and we were looking forward to it. Food was very tasty but sadly the portions were not even close to what was last year. I had ordered an extra plate to bring home but i ended up eating it there and after two plates I was not full. My girlfriend has a picture of last years meal and the plate was loaded like a thanksgiving meal should be. Yesterdays plates were maybe half loaded and not even piled up high. That is my only complaint. We really like the food and ambiance and we make the drive several times during the year but yesterdays portions were not even close to enough. Im not a large man, 5’11” and about 205 lbs and after i ate and paid for two plates for myself, i came home and made a couple grilled cheese with turkey sandwich meat
