Did not have a great experience for Mother’s Day brunch within big Pete’s steakhouse. It took us 1/2hr for a server to come to our table to give us a menu and ask for drinks. And that only happened because my boyfriend went and hunted down a waitress. On top of that by the time we received our first round of food that was supposed to be all you can eat had already been over an hour and by the time we had our second order it was already 2.5hrs in. Since the service was so poor and the time was incredibly lengthy we decided to leave. Overall for the service, it was a very poor dining experience. The place is beautiful and the menu was great, however new staff or more experienced staff would’ve made this experience a lot better and live up to the prestige of Monthill.

Delicious Valentines Day menu. We absolutely loved the food. The appetizer we chose was a heart shaped baked brie with berries. I have had many iterations of this dish before but this was the best. The mixed berries were bright and had just the right amount of acid to complement the richness of the brie. The second course was Beef tataki for my partner and short rib ravioli for me. My partner really enjoyed his. My pasta was cooked perfectly but the dish was way too salty. I couldn't taste any other flavour. The short rib was a bit stringy. Our main was perfect. We shared chateaubriand surf and turf. Excellent beef, lobster tails and beautifully cooked vegetables. For dessert we each had the poached pears. Nicely cooked, not turned to mush as they often are. However the ice cream was so melted as to be just a sauce. Portions were very generous and we had trouble finishing. Overall, really tasty.Service was just adequate. It appeared to be understaffed and with new servers. My water glass was dirty and I had to ask to have it replaced. We both ordered the same cocktail but one came and not the other. We had to remind the server about the second cocktail and when she fetched it, it was OK but a bit watery due to ice melt. During the meal we asked several times for pepper but never saw it. Our used cutlery was removed after the appetizer (as it should) but we had to request twice to have it replaced while we waited with our second courses. The server seemed to think we should have kept our used cutlery for the entire meal. While we were about 1/3 through our main course, dessert arrived. The Kitchen Runner (?) realized they had jumped to the gun and took it back. Pete's Place is a lovely restaurant but I thought they might have decorated for Valentines Day since they were offering a special menu. It would have been nice to include a gift like a rose or a chocolate or something. Nice background music would have been appreciated.

Wonderful atmosphere, service was excellent and food was amazing. Only complaint, the cod is pricey for the portion size and it also does not come with a side. Had I not had a salad as a starter, I definitely would not have felt fulfilled. The drinks are also quite pricey. Otherwise, great experience.

Unfortunately our waitress was very difficult an un informed I was displease that we had to rely on other servers to help us out she told us no substitute to the menu when I could see other tables receiving scramble eggs instead of fried ect. Rarely came to refill drinks food arrived cold long waits. Even though it was fathers day dining room wasn't busy at the time we were there.

I have to give it a 10. Have been there twice already and heading back again. Only restaurant that can cook a filet well done and it is, not burnt, but not extremely flavourful and juicy. As a fan of French onion soup I would say this is the best I have ever had. Kudos to the team at Big Pete’s. Cheers.

I love Monthill, and have only had wonderful experiences in the past. We enjoy it so much that my fiance and I will be getting married there. I was disappointed in the service yesterday, though. We were seated and it took 45 minutes for us to receive any food (including the pastries which most folks got within 10 minutes of being seated.) Servers walked past our table multiple times and served literally every table around us while we were ignored. I informed one server of our wait after 30 minutes and she was rather dismissive telling us "Yes, I know. It will be out soon. We are way overbooked" then walked away. The second server, who had gotten us our coffee and drinks earlier, came by and was very helpful and apologetic. I felt for the service staff as you could tell they were very overwhelmed. Once the food came, it was cold and overcooked. The eggs benedict couldn't be cut because the bread was too hard, the bacon was cold and hard, the chicken and waffles were cold. I know that this food is delicious when I've had it at Big Pete's for the regular brunch, so I was quite disappointed. I'm now nervous about the quality of food and service for our wedding. I feel like the platters were not the best way to have brunch, but rather have the same system as you do for the regular brunch service, or offer service stations/buffet style for folks. The hall was beautifully set up, and we still had a nice time, but I did leave feeling disappointed.

Loved Big Pete's Steakhouse. The luxury feeling exhumes the second you walk through the door. The venue is stunning with a cozy yet fresh feel, the bar takes your breath away with the uniqueness of the light & marble paired together. The chairs are comfy, and the view of the golf course is beautiful especially watching the sun set. Our main server Bailey was awesome; however, all the servers were excellent and helped each other out. My only very minor issue, apps all came at once when we ordered 3 different apps to try. My mistake, I should have asked my server to space the apps so the soup would come out first, then the salad then the sliders instead of them all showing up at the same time. All excellent! The portions are very healthy, so when the mains arrived, I wasn't very hungry. Rookie mistake but worth it as the French Onion soup was really beefy and tasty, also the perfect temperature so I could eat it without having to wait 20 mins for it to cool off or add ice. The Ceasar salad was delish with Big Pete's own twist with the breaded egg, and the Beef Sliders, yummy! The sliders came in 3, the 3 of us shared, I had 1, perfect size to go along with the soup and a shared salad with my husband, again as the portions are generous. I ordered the Short Rib, so good but certainly had to take home 3/4 of it due to the apps making me way to happy and full. Husbands Prime Rib, he said it was excellent and seasoned to perfection, my sister-in-law ordered the chicken, she said it was delicious and very moist. All of us enjoyed our dining experience. We were all way to full for dessert but let me tell you, there will be a next time! If you're looking for a GREAT steak, there is plenty of different steak options available on the menu, at all different price points to suit everyone's desires. We have Brunch on the radar to try next! Go and enjoy, treat yourself to a nice experience and great meal!

Hello , First I would like to say me & my family enjoyed our Mother's Day Brunch! The chefs did a good job of getting the food out & making it tasty! I believe that there should be more child friendly dishes for kids such as plain buttermilk pancakes & regular bacon. Also last time that l had brunch you served Pane Fresco breads & croissants ,this time you did not serve them & we missed that. You needed more wait staff on the floor but l am guessing that because of the labor shortage you were affected. The setting & room was beautiful & the live music was a nice touch ! In conclusion the value as amazing and the quality of the food was great and I would definitely recommend Monthill Brunch & to my friends & family! Marc Albanese 905 537 7722

Took my wife for a friday night dinner. She started with a salad which was large and had the braised short ribs/brussels both of which she said was excellent. I had the NY Strip medium rare/stuffed potato with the french onion soup to start. The steak while flavourful was under cooked and kind of small for a 12oz, potato overcooked and soup, while excellent flavor, searing hot and took a long time to cool down. We had the shrimps as well which were great and an excellent portion. Actually really liked them! As for the ambience, lighting could have been dimmed somewhat. Service, while friendly was inexperienced. Despite making the server aware of my wife's gluten intolerance the salad definitely had gluten in it with no mention made at time of order. Drink prices were very reasonable. Will we go back, probably....... it shows promise.

My wife and I enjoyed a well-cooked meal at BP steakhouse on Thursday with a 6:15pmreservation. The meal itself was good but I have a few concerns being that it was close to $200 for the 2 of us. A cost I don't mind if the service matches the quality of the food. I was very surprised that the server was a teenager, I expected a professional server. She was not able to answer any food related questions or recommend drinks based on the food. This made it hard for me to tip properly on a $200 bill. She was still in high school, not yet able to drink. She was very nice and sweet, but I could go to The Argyle or the Keg for the same service at 1/2 the cost. I asked for a Medium steak that was still raw in the center, my wife was still hungry after her meal due to the serving size. As well the overall presentation of the food was very amateur, and our drinks did not match the flavor of the food. It's great to have an upscale restaurant but from our experience last night it stops at the door. I'd love to return and eat their weekly, but I don't feel it's worth it right now.

Ambience was great, patio was clean & and seating & table very comfortable. Food was exquisite, presentation outstanding, Service was exceptional, waitress (Kerri) was very helpful & friendly with a great sense of humor. Even the other servers assisted her during our dining time, which was nice to see as well. Would I return again? Many times until I work my way, totally through this great menu. r

There is nothing that I can suggest to improve on. Not only did we like the food , the display , the excellent service but we were most impressed with the spaciouness between the tables. Most other places you feel crowded, tables etc being too close to one another.

The first time eating at Big Pete’s and it certainly won’t be the last! Actually it will be our go-to steakhouse! The food was absolutely incredible. We were so impressed with the Caesar salad and then came the entree which was phenomenal….the Waghu steak, brussels and baked potatoes cooked to perfection. The desserts were decadent. Our server Kerri was marvellous and Mike the Manager was fabulous. Highly recommended. Nearly forgot to highlight the beautiful view of the golf course, just stunning! Kudos to the owner and staff (especially the Chef) for creating such a first class experience!

We brought our teenage children for the first time to celebrate our wedding that they couldnt attend and they absolutely loved the food and ambience. Ricki made our evening even more enjoyable with her attention to detail and genuine care for everyone at our table.

Service was great, Drinks & Wine were well executed, No background music so it was a bit dull and having a private conversation feels less private. Steaks were good, but not outstanding. Sides were a bit underwhelming. Being a first time visitor would have been nice to have an incentivized return, nevertheless will return, but not in a hurry.

I discovered this wonderful property and restaurant while I was in the Cayuga area on business. Absolutely wonderful building, great staff and the chef is over the top! I had an absolutely delicious elk plate dinner accompanied by a chocolate martini to settle in and delicious red wine with dinner...I will return!

We had a nice relaxing experience. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed the brunch. A beautiful atmosphere! My only wish is that there would have been more glutenfree choice with the menu as this is the main reason we choose our dining experience as a family. It is easy to replace an item with gluten free to expand choices. Example..pancakes, English muffins, crepe, sweet tray...all freezer friendly.

Honestly was the best dinner we have had in our 10 year relationship. Didn’t love the hard brownie dessert because I couldn’t get my spoon through it but the mint ice cream was delic. Everything else was impeccable! Will definitely return to try their regular menu.

I truly enjoy the venue. It is beautiful. I have golfed there and have had lunch down stairs a few times. Today, I was entertaining a very good customer who I believe was a bit disappointed that we could not get a steak at a steak house. I have to agree it was disappointing. My fault I guess, I should have read the menue and not assumed. Even if there was a lunch filet it would make sense for a steak house. Also given the time of year having a shrimp cocktail or some seafood would have been nice. Regards.

Weather was becoming a lousy day. At Big Pete's food was good service was good. Beautiful spot. Only thing that would have made it better was if we were seated in front of the fireplace.
