Great venue to lunch with friends. Service was a bit slow, in the sense not very attentive! We had to keep trying to get attention to order more drinks and ask for bread that was order with meal but didn't arrive... But overall, didn't put us off and would definitely visit again. Decor beautiful and comfy seating. Perfect meeting place for eats.

The breakfast was lovely and the staff were very attentive. The only issue we had was that when the party first arrived (slightly before me) there was apparently no record of our booking. This was rectified as quickly as possible but to be honest did cause some bother for my sister with additional needs. Thanks, Nick

My wife and I really enjoyed our "brunch" to celebrate our 47th Wedding Anniversary. The food and service were excellent, the only slight downside was there there no gluten free cake available, to finish off what otherwise was the perfect way to celebrate our special day.

only niggle was over order on our drinks.. pint poured instead of half and a another additional pint , which may have got confused as big party which we just accepted and payed for.... just clarification perhaps needed on the drinks when taking big orders. but otherwise as usual, a lovely time

Overall we had a great time. My only criticism is that I had specified at booking stage and confirmed on the phone, that a member of our party had mobility issues, but we were put in the raised area which posed a challenge. Other than that, everything else was great.

The whole dining experience was a joy. The setting is lovely, the staff were polite, the service was excellent and the food delicious. I am coeliac and therefore require gluten free choices and the set full breakfast was adjusted to meet my needs. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Exchange experience to anyone who has not tried it yet.

Lovely place and food. The only areas that needs improvement in my view are the following. 1) music a little bit too loud especially as speakers just above tables. Means everyone has to talk louder. Not sure music is needed but if so mute a bit. 2) staff great but maybe need 1 more? Very attentive and pleasant once you can catch their eye but that can take some time, or need to pop to the bar counter to ask for something.

We visited with a table of 7 people during a very busy afternoon. The staff were all exceptional, which is a very rare compliment to be able to pay a business, these days. The Exchange has lovely decor, is very clean and in a great location too. Highly recommend a visit.

Hi we enjoyed our visit. The staff were great but the restaurant was cold (which the staff rectified). Unfortunately all tapas dishes come out together and became cold quite quickly. It might be better to serve separately throughout the 2 hr experience

No impressed upon arrival - had a table booked and waited to be seated - 3 servers passed and no-one acknowledged us. Eventually stopped a server and told her we had a booking - further wait for table to be made ready... even though we had a reservation! Once seated, service did improve... but not a good start!

It was v busy - Service slow and inattentive. 3 huge servings of garlic bread we left half of it. Our first time there would have welcomed advice on that. It was v good bread tho expensive. (As much as a main meal). Disappointed tapas not available at lunch. Carafe of water and glasses on table should at least be offered. We asked for water couple of times. Overall enjoyable. Prawns huge and plentiful. Pasta perfectly cooked.

3 ladies went for lunch. They were advertising Tapas very heavily on the website and on posters at the entrance… but apparently we were told that they were only available during evening service! They were very busy - both inside and outside and only 2 waitresses, so the service was not up to their usual standard. The food was ok - but at almost £10 for a sandwich it was not good value for money. The decor is lovely and it’s a convenient venue to meet.

I rated the service high because after paying I left my phone at the table and then went away later I realised I left the phone there and when I got there it was locked safely for me so good service. For the meal I was really hopeful there would be small plates (tapas) but not at lunch time which was disappointing, all in lunch time menu would be better with more options but food supplied was tasty

The waiter serving was a very polite, friendly gentleman and we were impressed with his service. However, our food first arrived with the filings of our ciabatta’s cold! Sent back to the kitchen and warmed but then this meant a couple of the ciabattas were so hard and crunchy they couldn’t be eaten! They didn’t deduct anything from our bill.

Next time, please tell me if there's going to be someone else's party, they've invited 40 people and a professional singer. It was not a pleasant surprise to arrive in the middle of someone else's party that was taking up the entire restaurant and feeling jammed into a corner.

The service was really good, our seats were comfortable but the music was too loud and I wouldn't shout about the food, it was mostly OK and at least it was cheap but the eggs with the gammon were overcooked and my tagliatelli had been over micro-waved and was hardened and chewy. I didn't say anything at the time because our waitress was so nice and looked after us very well. I will certainly go there again though, it's a nice place to be and the cakes and coffee are good.

Lovely place and an interesting menu but marred by somewhat slow service and the person who initially greeted and seated us not explaining the menus properly (the food we wanted (tapas) was not available at lunchtimes but this was not mentioned on the menu or by him). When we did finally decide what we were having (sharing boards) we were then told that one of our choices wasn't available! We understand there are staff shortages and maybe even food supply issues but a bit more time telling us what was and wasn't available would have helped (and also having this information on the website). The lady who actually brought the food and took the orders did well and was very happy and smiling. And the food itself when it arrived was good and as expected.
