I hope this review makes it’s way to the owners of this restaurant.
Let me begin with the positives .
Food: absolutely what we expected , wonderful!
Ambience: dreadful when we got sat on the third floor , in a cafeteria like room with a group of 50 German tourists ( who were not the problem) . Waited on by 3 young boys who were overwhelmed and clearly unprepared by the amount of customers they had to wait on.
Service : dreadful to begin , we were sat at a table that had one glass and nothing else on it , waited 10 minutes to be given 3 menus( we were 4) and then just plainly forgotten about for another 20 and who knows how long more , had I not gotten up and complained about the situation to some person who seemed like a manager.
But back to when we arrived, we were greeted by a few women , who seemed surprised of our arrival , even though we had made reservations. We waited thinking we would be sat in the courtyard where there were clearly tables available , but no that’s when we were taken to the third floor in the room I described earlier.
Let me mention that I have a knee problem and must wear a brace , which is clearly in view of everyone , but no the less they walked us up three flights of stairs nonetheless.
Back to the service the three other people in our group had had enough of the wait , no one had yet come to ask us if we wanted drinks , no tableware brought to our table barley any acknowledgement that we were there. So, after another 20 minutes that’s when I got up and complained. I explained the situation told the person that this was our last night in Hanoi and that we wanted a nice night out before we left and asked to given another table or else we would leave.
Then by magic a table became available in the courtyard and we were sat there and some very nice gentlemen waited on us in a professional fashion , as expected for this type of restaurant. The experience was nonetheless bittersweet to say the least.
Disappointed!!
