This was our first time to eat at the tavern. Everything was very good except that the 3 of us that ordered meals involving steak found the meat to be on the cold side while the crab cake meal was hot. We didn’t let that fact stop us from having a wonderful experience.

We had an absolutely amazing meal celebrating our son's 13 birthday! The all you can eat shrimp were huge and after about 27 shrimp for our son, he threw in the towel...and was totally filled to the max! Our server Mariah was wonderful and made our experience here one to remember with her care and reloading of shrimp for as long as the guys could make room for! Can't wait to go back again....as now our other sons both said that we need to bring them here for their birthday dinner as well!

I actually did not get to go here to eat. They canceled my reservation that morning due to being closed on Mondays that was not reflected on this reservation site. I was very upset because it was a surprise for our anniversary! Hopefully we can get there some other time.

Great little hole in the wall place. It is a lot more than it seems from the outside. Food is top notch and a good selection of delicious cocktails. Drove an hour and a half just to eat here. Our waitress was the sweetest person and was always attentive to our table. Highly recommend this place for great steak or just a family outing. Will always stop here on our travel in this area.

Bry was our server and she was great. She definitely makes a mean Manhattan! The Calamari and Jalapeno Poppers for appetizers were amazing. Entrees, Haddock Oscar, Ahi Tuna, Crab Cakes, and of course the Prime Rib were all really good. Cheesecake and Chocolate Peanut Butter cake for desert - a truly great meal and dining experience!

We enjoyed the meal... delicious. Prime rib and crab cake sandwich. Employees very friendly and service was very good. It was a tavern atmosphere which is what we expected. Will be visiting again. The only suggestion... parking lot not in best condition and had to wait for someone to leave to get a space.

The food is very good. We had all u can eat Shrimp and Crab Legs. Very good indeed. The shrimp were large and plentiful, Crabs very good as well. The server seemed fairly new but we had her trained well before we finished. Only problem is it is a small dining room and sometimes gets pretty loud, but we'll be back for sure.

Too long foe the AYCE crab legs. Seemed like everyone around us was complaining too. Between orders our butter started solidifying. We drove over an hour to try the restaurant. Very disappointed.

First visit. While waiting to be seated(with a reservation), other patrons entered, went right to the bar and mingled with others. Then they were seated ahead of us. Made us feel that we not as important as other patrons(regulars?). When I inquired as to why, I was told they also had reservations and people at the bar were waiting for them(they were a little late). Fine, but we were already waiting and then had to wait longer. The last two of the other party just walked in past us like they were entitled, never checking with the maitre’d, Made us feel unwelcome. After that, everything was great!

Reservations are a must. Covid restrictions have limited inside seating. Not a large place but cozy. Outside seating is a heated tent with picnic tables. Prime rib and crab cakes were very good. Side salad tasted fresh. Would suggest french frires be good longer. Beer prices good. Krista W was our server. She was excellent. Warmly greeted us and went out of her way to explain everything when she found out it was our first visit. She checked on us several times. We appreciated her recommendations and explanations. Based on our experience, 3/5/2021, we will return on 3/13/20121 with a party of six.

we had reservations but our table was not ready for us and we were told there was another table ahead of us so we would have to wait. We ended up sitting at the bar, waited quite some time for our food to come out of the kitchen. Had the all you can eat seafood, they were running out so the server kept asking us if we wanted more. Way too much old bay seasoning on the crab legs.

Sat in the tent area, 2.5 heaters were on and turned on right before we walked in. If reservations are being made with times on them then the heaters should be on in advance when the times are known and its in the 30s. No where on our reservation did it say we would be in the tent area. Food is carried outside into tent area without any coverings which allows the heat to escape the food. Will go back but not in the winter time.

I’ve been coming here for about two years. My first visit was the best. I thought it was unique, high quality and good value. Since then there are little things that disappoint. Since my first visit I haven’t been able to get fresh cut tallow fries. I felt this set Old Trail Tavern apart from other steak houses. Other times there was always something not available. Last night we couldn’t even get fresh cut fries. I opted for the mashed potatoes that were an I cream scoop of cold instant mashed potatoes. What has remained consistent is quality beef. Unfortunately last night that was ruined too. I brought my father-in-law there for his 80th birthday for what used to be great prime rib. It was brought grilled and heavily charred. The center temperature was what was ordered. But what we got in no way resembled what was on your Facebook page, traditional quality prime rib. If it’s grilled that’s a ribeye and that should be shared with the person ordering so they can change should they want. Additionally the filet a member of our party got was about the size of a golf ball. I’m quite certain it wasn’t 5oz.
This saddens me as I had such high hopes for this place since my first visit. I will pay hundreds of dollars on good food. I know you need to pay for quality and Old Trail Tavern once had it. I will say that the $300 I spent last night was not worth it. I have recommended this place several times over the last two years and I now regret that. This is not what I want my friends to experience.
I’m not sure what is happening. But I hope you can fix it. Thank you for asking for feedback. I do hope you take it seriously. Our area needs what you once offered.

-Steaks were excellent - Chef did an outstanding job with these, however one of the steaks had gristle which shouldn’t be in Filet Mignon!
-French Fries were suppose to be fresh cut, arrived cold, shrunken like they sat for hours or were reheated from a previous day?
-Loaded Baked Potato - was not fully cooked - extremely crunchy inside!
It was supposed to be loaded - very little cheese or anything for that matter!
-Salads - were fresh and had great croutons!
-Chairs need replaced or seat cushions added - heard others complaining also!
-Consider adding additional steak sauce - Heinz 57!
-Price would have been reasonable and fair if all the food would have presentable!!
-Atmosphere was Outstanding!
-Cheese Cake was awesome!
-Waitress was Outstanding, friendly & professional!!
- You establishment has a great thing going here, could use a few improvements so others won’t be disappointed in the future !
