Founded in June of 1993, The Tavern on the Hill has evolved to become the Harrisburg area's prime restaurant for people who want a high quality dining experience. All of our food is prepared right in our own kitchen with the highest quality ingredients. Our passion is food. Our steaks and seafood can not be beat for quality, preparation and service.

Perfect service with attention to every detail. Celebrated Mother’s 100 birthday three times in the last two weeks at the Tavern. Crab cakes great as well as the fish. Oysters had just arrived. A plus.

Overall a wonderful experience. Our server was terrific. All of the food was amazing, with the exception of the Mediterranean vegetable side (it was a bit mushier than I would have preferred). It's not the cheapest restaurant, but I don't mind paying a little more for a quality dining experience.

We came for our anniversary and absolutely loved this place! We had the blackened shrimp and scallops for an appetizer which was really good. I had the crab cakes with roasted potatoes…delicious! Possibly the best crab cakes I’ve ever had! My husband had the Kansas City steak which he loved. I had pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, Yum!!! Our server was phenomenal. Very friendly , attentive and timely. We will be back!

Your waitstaff, Roger and Owen, made our evening. Unfortunately, there were some very loud people in the dining room and we were seated between the 2 of them. We couldn’t hear ourselves talk and my date spoke to Roger and we were moved into another dining room away from the loud talkers. Roger and Owen were spectacular, very attentive and were spot on with their recommendations. Their picks for red wines were right on the money. I am a very picky eater and Roger took my favorite fish that was on the menu and pulled together my perfect meal. To end our evening, Owen made crème brûlée tableside and it was perfect! Don’t ever lose them because they are worth their weight in gold!

Excellent food, wine and service. Wanted to try the Houlumi (sp.) Greek cheese which was no longer available but had the other one. The seven of us all enjoyed the dinner. It was truly a special occasion for my husband's 90th birthday and we all hope to come back.

Our overall experience was great, however I was disappointed with my tuna entree. I requested it be seared but the ends came out over done. When I told our waitress she took it back but the chef cut the middle and said that part was done correctly. I didn’t accept the chef’s assessment and ended up not having a entree since our guests were already well into eating theirs.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in the area or almost anywhere. I go as often as I can but be warned, you should save a night out dinner at Tavern on the Hill for special occasions as it is pricey. But, if you're looking to impress a date or client it is most definitely the spot to go in Central PA.

On a cold and rainy Tuesday it was a most comfortable and delicious dinner. I don’t usually think of Tavern on the Hill because they call it ‘steak house’ and that to me does not connote fine dining. This is one of the few restaurants in our area that approaches fine dining. I’d drop the steakhouse nomenclature if I were doing marketing for Tavern on the Hill.

Dinning experience to remember! High quality, amazing staff, classy atmosphere with a welcome feeling.
We come down annually to the area with a large group- we go multiple times during the same week (it’s that good!!!)
