We had a really lovely evening- the staff were friendly and efficient, our steak was cooked exactly as we wished and the food was delivered promptly. Everything was delicious. We were entertained by a few relaxed hares outside the window which framed the beautiful view of Scapa Flow. We hadn’t visited for quite a while but will be back Thank you The Foveran!

This is a revelation as a restaurant. Unprepossessing exterior, lovely light interior with good design features. The food was first rate, fresh, innovative and well served. My only suggestion would be not to charge if people want more bread. The prices for food are enough to cover an extra round of bread. But otherwise the food was superb. Good cocktails too!

The downside for us, especially when we have visited together as a couple, are the larger parties. On this and prior visits there have been large parties dining at the same time and they are so noisy that we have been unable to hear each other and have a conversation across the table. Knowing that there were large parties dining when I booked would have been helpful, as I would not choose to dine again if large groups were near us. I have really loved it on the occasions when there were no large groups.

A wonderful dining experience - a beautiful restaurant setting with spectacular views across Scapa Flow. We enjoyed sampling Orkney gins before our meal in the lounge area.
We were warmly greeted and looked after very well by all staff members during our meal. Our food was just delicious in every way, finely presented and cooked to perfection. The ambiance in the restaurant was very peaceful and relaxed throughout.

Wonderful setting, fantastic service & deliciously moreish food. Our scallops were perfectly cooked, the beremeal profiteroles were squidgy & yummy, and the chocolate fondant as oozing as it should be. A great & special birthday meal.

It is some time since our last visit and over the years the experience has varied, ranging from excellent to less so, with the less excellent aspect relating to the service - the food has always been excellent.
However, on this occasion everything was absolutely first class. It will be a challenge to maintain it at this level.

Lovely location, smart place, good service, lovely food. Drinks good and reasonably priced. Liked that we were invited to sit in the bar before eating. Another time we would do that. I liked that though we weren't near the window the tables were spread out so we could enjoy the view.

We could not fault our dining experience at The Foveran. The premises was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The service was wonderful, the serving staff were attentive, polite and efficient. The food was delicious, plentiful and beautifully presented. The hen harrier hunting at the bottom of the garden was a bonus.
