Frequently Asked Questions- How does karaoke work?
- Ok, so our karaoke is Asian style meaning it is private rooms for just your group rather than strangers singing karaoke together! So what people tend to do is come in for food and drinks 2 hours before then hire out one of our rooms for after dinner. The rooms fit up to 15 guests (we have 2) and have waiter service for drinks. There are over 80K international songs and you will be given professional equipment.

The Karaoke was great, definitely would do it again. Our waiter Clifford was amazing! He was on the beat! The ambiance of the restaurant is also amazing. The food menu is limited and that is not great. As a person who was hosting 11 people and was told we could not select a set menu, it was a little difficult to satisfy my guests food wise.

My friend took me there for the 1st time on Womens day, it was the perfect spot for a girls night out. We sat upstairs which made our experience even better! An amazing experience at Saigon Suzy, but the food was a little disappointing. The bun cha was lacking flavour and was not like the true Vietnamese dish (I was hoping to be transported back to Hanoi when I ate it). The Sundae was not pleasant - the mango sorbet tasted like very ripe and mushy mangoes and the coconut ice cream tasted more like vanilla ice cream. Other than that, we enjoyed the vibe and the friendly staff.

We love the food, this time though, I ordered the Chicken and Prawn dim sum and the inside was bitterly cold - like it had been taken from the fridge and not cooked long enough. This dim sum took longer to come out than the rest of the starters, so I assumed it was forgotten about, so I just left it. Everyone else had a good meal.

The wok calamari was amazing and the Bun cha even better (pork belly, patties and pork and prawn spring roll with noodles) one of THE BEST dishes I have ever had. Sadly the duck was overcooked and we got served a thigh, on the bone?? Never had that before, should have been thinly sliced.
Pity there is no beer on tap. The reason given was because of the storm damage? Also, only expensive varieties of gin. Serve Gordon's as a cheaper alternative for the peasants like me?

Food has always been good though pricey. However i feel the ambiance has changed alot. We sat in the cherry blossom garden but music was turned down, lacked the atmosphere it used to have. I used to enjoy the punk rock vibe. Also, service was so slow. Waitress was friendly but didn't check in often enough and we had to flag her down for drinks.

I feel that we were shortchanged on the cocktail welcome drinks we paid for as they were in small glasses instead of normal cocktail glasses and the karaoke experience was not that good as we were not showed how to use the equipment properLy and had to ask for mics to be sanitised. Music volume was extremely loud unbearable

Due to Load Shedding the Air Conditioners were not working - this made it extremely uncomfortable to enjoy the whole experience - it became unbearably hot in the Karaoke Room. When the unit was finally switched on - there was no cold air coming through.

Managers were great! Waitress we had was very strange...
She didn't come back to us for like 30 mins for us to order mains. And then told us are we sure we want to order because it's going to take a verrrrrry long time. Love very long...
We said of course. Surely the earlier we order the better if it's going to take long. And also, why didn't she come to us earlier as we had been ready to order for ages.
Then we got our food. All good. I asked for no chilli on my food and got given plain chicken wings... I said where is the sauce and she said you said not Chilli. I said to them bring the sauce on the side. Because of course no one wants to eat just plain chicken wings. So she did. I had asked for it on the side from the start.
Then we had asked for water. 3 times. It never came in almost 40 mins. So I got up and asked rhe bar and eventually the manager. I was about to go to the tap myself. Eventually we got it.
Then my friend wanted dumplings. Again. Are you sure? It's going to take long... haha. We ordered and it was fine.
Then she kept bringing more and more cutlery tins for no reason. We had 3 or 4 on our table at some stage. And never cleared any glasses or anything. So our table was so full.
Then she cleared our mains and then started spraying the table and cleaning it whilst we were still at the table and trying to talk...
It was strange.
Then, it started getting very loud outside so we moved inside. As we wanted to talk. It was fine but gradually the sound got louder and louder until we were permanently shouting to hear each other.
This was not pleasant. It's a restaurant. This can happen later. But not at 8 or 9pm when people are still eating.
We had to strain our voices so much. We just had to keep drinking water and more water.
Food was good.

The service was really terrible and made our entire experience negative. We waited for drinks more than 30 minutes. Food took forever to arrive. Had to complain to be noticed and things still took forever.
