After having a poor meal at a pub in Tenterden a couple of weeks ago we decided to try Hoof and Hook and wow, what a difference! We all had a fabulous lunch, the staff were very attentive and we lunched on a mixture of steak and shellfish, starters and desserts, everything was tasty and good value for money. We shall certainly return - thank you.

This is our third visit in two weeks, so very happy with the restaurant. The only disappointment was that we visited on a Saturday, and had been expecting the 2 courses for £15 menu, and that is only available during the week. Otherwise overall all 5 of us were satisfied.

The staff made the whole day. There was a little confusion. As I made the booking and put a not to say it was my partners birthday but I was served the birthday ice cream but we had a laugh about it. Food would have been a 10 but the batter on the squid and chicken burger seems a little over cooked or oil was too hot but overall. Fantastic meal. Thank you.

Our first visit to this lovely restaurant and bar in Tenterden High Street for a family get together. The team run it really well and are very attentive. Our small party had pulled beef croquettes, Nachos and fried squid for starters to share and then for mains the vote was split between the beef roast dinner and Porky burger. All the food was well presented and apparently the Porky was particularly delicious! We were seated just by the front door near a window but just found it a little stuffy there. I’m sure we could have asked to open a window if we were that worried. Although it was busy the ambience was good and it was easy to converse. To finish off you must try the Freakshakes, we all had them, they are amazing! Overall a lovely place to meet and eat! We will be back.

We loved it. Booked a table for four. Our first time so didn't know what to expect. Only slight criticism was the one hour wait for our meal - didn't order a starter. Service was great but our waitress Ruby had left before us so will settle gratuity on our next visit. Local bottled cider was excellent and our meals fantastic. Enjoyed the head chef's random outbursts from the kitchen ( would he be Italian by chance ) but all in all a great experience. We will return!

The burgers and bun have changed and are some what inferior to the previous offering. Not sure why you would want to change ‘signature’ dishes? They were the best burgers by far! A little more veg and pots with the Lamb Chump wouldn’t go a miss, not enough veges to go with the lovely lamb. Restaurant manager and staff are brilliant, very helpful. We have made another booking in July, so look forward to that!

It was a pity it was a rainy Tuesday eve as it was very quiet in the restaurant but you cannot help that! No issues really friendly attentive staff and excellent food. If I could change anything about the food I had the Cesar Salad with Halloumi way too much lettuce could have done with a tiny bit more Halloumi. I started with rib delicious and what was described as Slaw but was really disappointed as the Slaw was really just a tiny bit of garnish for the price the Slaw needs sorting.

We had a great experience at the restaurant in Tenterden last night. Staff extremely attentive and pleasant in the heat. Food excellent. Thank you. Would recommend.

Nice table we were sat at, unfortunately looking up at the glass conservatory roof covered in bird poop was a bit off putting.
Staff were attentive and provided advice on the menu. Great selection of drinks.
Only sticking points were one of the lamb rump dishes was a bit sinuey, and with the desserts we ordered the tarte tatin and the caramel had hardened so much it was like thick toffee that wasn't edible, and also made the pastry solid too. Plus the pear crumble unfortunately the pear was too hard.

Staff really attentive with allergy but it took an age to receive our food despite being quite quiet, and a 15 minute wait for a card machine because “the manager is upstairs” is inexcusable.

The staff are lovely and friendly but feel they need more training and to be more aware of the customer- took a long time to manage to catch their attention and to be served but as soon as we asked for the bill they came back with it in a shot!! A shame that there is not more more local wine on the list and that, each one that was, is £10 more. Food was very tasty and a nice atmosphere

We had a lovely evening, the service was excellent, the venue is wonderful and most of the food was very good.
I had half a lobster which came with a green salad. I knew that there was a high risk of not much meat in the lobster which was the case (only 4 small edible chunks) however the green salad that came with it was virtually all spinach and just a few sprigs of other lettuce. This really wasn't enough for a main meal. Given the likelihood of the lobster being low in meat you should accompany the lobster with sides that help fill the meal out. My sister had mussels which came with fries and bread which was plentiful.
Unfortunately, I was still quite hungry after my lobster meal - please review the sides for this dish.

Food was good. Unfortunately, our table was too close to the walkway so whenever waitress came out with food or went back to the kitchen she was breezing past my seat leaving me feeling like I was eating in a corridor. It felt chilly too. We will go back again as the food was good and a few things I'd like to try next time.

Always enjoy coming here but this is the 3rd time we’ve visited where the the chicken has been overcooked, very tough. We also had a Caesar chicken salad but very surprised that the chicken was the same as the clucker chicken and fried which isn’t as enjoyable and no Parmesan in the salad and none of this mentioned on the menu .
