Frequently Asked Questions- Do you do a Sunday Roast?
- Yes we do. We always advise that you pre order. We offer a fairly unique experience during the cooler months, in that we cook joints of meat specifically for you. Normally for 2 or 3 people to share at the table. Its best you look at our menu online, decide on your joint and give us a call. Larger tables work well with several types of joint that everyone can share. Its a lovely experience, relaxed...as a sunday should be.

It was extremely hot and we appreciated being able to sit in the shade outside. Delicious Caesar salads which were just what we wanted and the service was friendly and efficient. We didn't feel rushed, nor did we feel forgotten!

We came as a party of 4 to celebrate a birthday and , as ever we had a great time , the food was .mostly excellent, but the rhubarb starter was really good !
It was a chilly evening and our table was in front of the outside door , which we asked to close and our waiter was happy to oblige, even asking h us if it was ok to leave ajar while he collected things from the garden.
A great evening, very professional staff who could discuss the menu and had really tasted it !
Hats off New Flying Horse , this is going to be our favourite place to eat !

Had another truly wonderful time spent with all. This has become our complete relaxation place to be. Cannot find fault with anything. Exceptional service and food as always. Staff are so knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and are always on hand should you need to know anything. Jo and Jane are just amazing it almost feels like they are extended family. It was all excellent!
Great service, good value.
My steak was good quality meat, perfectly cooked; chips were amazing.
My husbands dish of sausages and mash was very good too. One minor point about the venison sausages was that the skins were caught, but perhaps not as crispy as they could be… but it could be us, as we rarely eat sausages. Also, thinking about the future, when we bring our vegetarian friends with us, it would be great to see the veggie dishes selection expand - if possible.

We have stayed ay the New Flying Horse Inn on many occasions over the years since family members moved to the area. We have just returned from a 4 night break and found everything to be excellent. It is very dog friendly (we would have to stay somewhere else if it wasn't), the various breakfasts, evening meal and family Sunday lunch we had were top rate. All members of staff are extremely friendly and, although we didn't need any assistance, we are confident that any problem would have been solved promptly.
The weather was vile during our time there yet we were warm and cosy in our room in the stable block.
Of course we always look forward to seeing family, but we always look forward to our time at the New Flying Horse as well.

Cooking and presentation was excellent. Staff were always alert to when plates were to be cleared and the arrival of the next one was very prompt. Background music was not intrusive. Having been asked on the booking form whether an occasion was being celebrated I wondered what we might expect. I was glad no mention was made of it but then wondered why the question was asked.

I booked The Flying Horse in Wye for my husband's 75th birthday.
We were not disappointed. Friendly and welcoming service from the minute we walked through the door. My husband chose the mussels as a main and although it was a huge bowl, he struggled manfully through, eating every last one, declaring that they were better than he had ever had in France! I had the fish and chips, which was equally delicious but, thankfully not quite as large! I chose to have the trio of locally made ice creams and before I could even ask we were offered 2 spoons. This was just as well, as they were very filling and I was grudgingly happy to share with said birthday husband. We will definitely be back!

We had an excellent stay. Large bedroom - the tea and coffee pots a very nice touch - and a comfortable (large) bed. Good sized, well-equipped bathroom. Breakfast to die for. We would definitely stay there again.

A very well run place.
The whole experience from start to finish was consistently excellent.
All the staff seemed to be on the same page, and we felt very well looked after.
All our meals were well balanced and super tasty.
And our dog was given the VIP treatment which he very much appreciated

Thank you Hannah for dealing with my requests which added to an excellent lunch inside and later to unwind in your wonderful garden with our friends. I thought the coffee served prior to lunch was most generous and attention to detail was second to none.

A really brilliant meal, with each dish presented in a highly creative way, terrific flavours and a lot of care and expertise. We were served to a very high standard also, and particularly loved the bell and incantation over the affogato which made us laugh and enjoy it even more. Thank you to the great NFH team. We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the New Flying Horse Inn on Sunday 25th August. As a vegan, I felt really well catered for and it was definitely the best Sunday lunch I have had. My partner had the beef and he really enjoyed too. The service was 10/10 and I would 100% recommend.

We had another fantastic meal at The Flying Horse. We sat outside with an umbrella put up for shade for us. The food was delicious and great value and there is a lovely positive atmosphere there created by the staff. It's great to have the option of main meals or snacks at lunchtime. We both had the sandwiches and they were completely delicious - exceeding expectations. Can't wait to go back!
