Nice traditional historical looking restaurant for our visit to Canterbury.. we all opted for a Weaver’s Pie as it was national pie week! The waitress was so sweet and professional and the food was really delicious!

Staff were very friendly and service was excellent. Wanted more gravy with my roast dinner and fetching additional gravy from the kitchen was no trouble. Menu prices were higher compared to a carvery. Roast dinner was excellent. Custard with the pudding was not very warm. Overall very good. I would definitely return to the restaurant.

We booked this restaurant through recommendations from a friend as we were attended the Marlowe to see a show.

We were enjoying our main course, when we were asked to move tables, towards the front of the restaurant. Did not appreciate being interrupted and being asked to move, in between courses. Also charged for a drink, that was not in stock. Food was good but poor service let it down badly.

We visited after walking past the evening before and seeing a good selection of food on the menu. We were welcomed by staff and sat straight down outside next to the river which was lovely as the evening was starting. We both opted for pies as per the recommendations from the lady serving us and the pies were amazing. The waitress was very friendly, chatty and made our time there very enjoyable (apologies I didn’t catch her name) but overall I would recommend and come back here again, thank you

Had a nice time. The Stilton and steak pie was incredible! Our server was sweet and very professional. I don't remember her name, but she was Muslim (I only know that because we asked her to sit down for a drink with us, and she said she couldn't.)

We enjoyed everything about our visit. We had a convenient table to watch punters along the river in a sunny day yet we were in the shade due to the clever design or the arboretum. My hamburger was amazing (the equivalent of three patties in America, with bacon the equivalent of three Canadian bacon slices). My husband was delighted to have a Sunday roast when it wasn’t even a Sunday. Fast, friendly service in a pretty atmosphere for delicious food!

We love to dine at Old Weavers- one of our regular stops every time we come to Canterbury! We ate there twice on this trip, and both times were outstanding. We love the old building and the wonderful rustic elegant decor. The menu has so many things we love to eat- especially the lamb dishes- and the the service staff are so warm, friendly and knowledgeable. On our first visit we had a lovely young woman named Yasmine who had a charming personality and went the extra mile to make our dining experience special. The second time we had a great young man named Mark who was really excellent- so full oh personality and so eager to provide wonderful service. They are both students and we know they will be as successful in their studies and careers as they are in restaurant work. Our food was outstanding as usual- the best food we've found in CAnterbury, and we can't wait to return there on our next trip.

Been here a few times. Just love everything about it. If you sit outside with the vines overhead on a lovely sunny day watching the little boats go by with the tourists along the river it's delightful with a lovely cocktail. The food is value for money and has a varied menu from pies to seafood to pizza and a ploughman's. Would recommend everytime.

I would prefer to put my own gravy on the roast dinner. Staff were very pleasant and efficient but we had to wait along time to get their attention for another drink and for the desert menu. I asked one waitress for the menu but she just went and asked our waitress who was serving someone else hence a wait. Why couldn’t the waitress I asked have given me the menu?

Always have a great experience. Come here for lunch before going to the Marlowe theatre as is just around the corner. Had a fab roast ( chicken and nut roast ), good-sized portions and well cooked. Followed by banoffee pie - totally yummy! Staff were really friendly and accomodating for my elderly mum. We sat in the atmospheric area by the entrance ( wood panelled and historical ) but there is a fab outside area overlooking the river. My only gripe is more toilets are needed. There is only one each of ladies & gents and if occupied you have to stand outside. This was hard for my mum who has weak mobility. But generally I would recommend to anyone.

Fabulous menu something for all tastes, I would highly recommend the pie would have been good to have some veg with chips or new potatoes but you can order extra sides just meant to much food, but not a big thing just personally hate food waste. I really enjoyed your food and the ambience. In my own view, tables should be slightly more distant in the terrace, to leave more room for people to move without disturbing the other clients. Despite this remark, my experience was extremely positive.

Suggestion to the management: Maybe correct the typo in your History where it reads “Prosperity peaked in the 1960s, …”; this probably should read 1690s?

We were delighted with the charm of the old building and all the decor. We also loved everything we ordered. Friendly service. There was a loud party next to us which was not the restaurant's fault, but it did dampen our overall experience a little bit. We'd gladly go there again next time we're in Canterbury.

First time we have dined here . Food excellent servers very attentive. We opted for set menu and were not disappointed. The mango cheesecake was amazing .
