Cozy ambiance, tasty food in ample portions —we’ll be back! The menu (full of fun surprises - things we’ve never had before) politely discourages substitutions but our server practically invented a new meal for us when one of our party asked about gluten-free.

The quality of the food was outstanding. I could see (and taste) the pride and love that went into each dish. We had the appetizer plate. Three delicious apps. Great value for the money. Menu was limited which I think is a good idea. More care can go into each dish. We will definitely go again. Best food in Picton….and I’m not even Scottish.

Friday was our second time there in the last month. You've got some great things going on -- a unique resto-culinary "theme," good space, obvious talent in the kitchen and front-of-house.
It's the decor/vibe that's missing the mark badly. A couple of tartan banquettes don't instantly make a Scottish pub. If you're going to go theme, do it in a way that wraps guests in the experience, from all senses. From the smallest touches, like dried thistles in vases or pots of heather on dining tables. There's so much Scottish decor out there that you can modernize and have fun with.
Background music is lacking -- Bagpipe music would be over-the-top unless it's cool and contemporary. An on-theme ambient soundtrack be better than what was playing the other night.
Entrees were good. Scotch Broth is AMAZING. We shared the Wee Scran platter last time. It was okay. Wouldn't order again. Too many pastry-based bites -- dry and filling. With not much thought into the presentation. Scottish food is not known for its flavour and aesthetics, so here is your chance to elevate it -- make it unique to you.
Be interested to see what the summer menu will be, as the current menu will be far too heavy for warm weather.

The first course of soups were wonderful - super tasty and enjoyable. The main courses were good but not great. The turkey was somewhat dry, the beef was uneven - some bits rare, others medium. The roast potatoes were great. The Yorkshire puddings were good. We wished there could have been a gravy boat with more gravy.

Such a delight to try out this brand new restaurant so close to Picton’s Main Street. Everything was prepared with care! Smoked haddock soup was smoky, hot and fresh. Homemade oat cakes were not unappreciated! The duck was wonderfully roasted. A warm and friendly place! I’d highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return in the new year!

We had an excellent dinner and service in a relaxed atmosphere. It was my mom’s 92nd birthday and they kindly gave mom her sticky toffee pudding with a candle for free which was very sweet.
