We had the celebration board. Tasty pate, hummus, a good selection of crackers and open sandwiches. The salad was fresh and tasty, the soup full of flavour. The warm bread was delicious. The scattering of fresh berries added a burst of colour and freshness. The cakes were superb, we have no complaints, just praise for the wonderful attentive staff.

Tomato soup was tasty but there were several skins/celery strings? Which made it a little hard to eat. Delicious dressing on the cheese on toast. Fab cakes. Great cuppa with lits of hot water. Super staff.

Wonderful little cafe hidden away in the forest. My 2nd time here and I ordered the tomato soup and cheese on toast combo as it was so delicious the first time. My mother in law had the same and also loved it. My Auntie had the ploughman's lunch and she said it was beautiful. She had to take some home as there was so much! They both had the vanilla cake to finish and said it was very light & delicious. Another wonderful visit with attentive staff and great festive ambience. Will definitely come back in the New Year.

As a couple we have very little time off together and when we do we choose to come here.
Always guaranteed the welcome, fabulous service and wonderful food.
It is possible to have privacy and share the dining space.
We understand why you have a separate breakfast and lunch menu, but I wish I could have something from the breakfast when my husband makes his lunch choice.

Really enjoyed our visit. I have been often to Spring cottage and always enjoy the whole experience.
I took two old school friends who live outside the area. We walked with Buca( the dog) from Horwich. They thought it delighted yo find an eating place nestled in the countryside. The service, food and ambiance were all great. Buca enjoys to the self service menu and chose for herself treats of her choice.

Visited a few times and always had a lovely lunch, came yesterday for my friends birthday and was so disappointed with the choices or little of on the menu, we opted to share a ploughman's as this was the only thing on there that either of us wanted but was told there was no pies left so opted for extra ham, if we had driven there instead of walked it we would have walked out and gone somewhere else. I know we are coming into autumn/winter but a few more choices on the menu please would be great. Also the soup and cheese on toast option, I would have liked the soup but with the choice of a healthier option to go with it. I will definitely check the menu again before I return

We had a really nice lunch. Everything was lovely. Maybe the prices are high for what you get but it's definitely worth it for the setting and ambience. We would visit again.
