My sort of place .Presentation of the ploughman's was beautiful .A very good portion and the little salad was really good .The display of cakes looked really nice ( unfortunately we were full from our ploughman's) I would definitely return and tie it in with a walk .I would recommend booking a table .In summary , a little gem .

I think having dogs in your cafe is ok, but maybe a sign up saying that barking dogs can irritate other customers. The tea rooms in Rivington have a sign that says barking dogs may be asked to leave.

It was our first visit yesterday, following a recommendation, and we loved it. We’ll definitely be back. The location is beautiful; we were in the ‘Garden Room’, and it felt like being in a tree house. It was peaceful, with lovely woodland views. First time to Spring Cottage this week and what a gem it is. Great location for a walk up to Rivington Pike or down to the reservoir and while the food is not cheap it is really good quality and beautifully presented. The setting and venue is beautiful Inside is so lovely and unique with festive foliage on the tables and twinkling lights. It has a really cosy atmosphere, which is a welcome vibe especially in the often cold outdoor setting it’s in. The food looks lovely and we have tried the cakes before but found them dry, as most are vegan/GF. That’s great they offer some choice for those with food allergy, but cakes taste better with butter and flour, but that’s my preference. It is table service and we pre booked which is advised, and the lady was pleasant and attentive. But without feeling the need to be rushed out over our coffee and conversation. Here is the only negative, the coffee was one of the worst I’ve ever tasted. I think a Costa out of a machine would have tasted nicer. I’ve tried many coffee shops in Manchester and compared to what I had, it had no taste of the coffee notes, really watery and milky dish water. I drank it as it is quite an expensive place to dine. So was rather let down by the lack of knowledge and expertise in making a good barista coffee. Not sure what beans are on the hop but I won’t be coming back on that basis.

My friends and I visited Spring Cottage again today. It's always a lovely experience. They accommodate a quick table change for us because my friend had an allergy to the Christmas tree. They catered beautifully for a vegetarian diet and a gluten and lactose free diet. The food is tasty, imaginative and plentiful. Cakes are to die for Thanks for a lovely afternoon

I took my parents for the 1st time for lunch, Ive been a few times before and it’s never disappointed. My parents loved it, great food, fabulous service, beautiful surroundings and the place is full of character. The staff are really friendly, I wouldn’t change a think, it’s lovely.

We love Spring Cottage. Sometimes service can be slow which I felt it was on Monday. I know everything is prepared fresh which takes time but for drinks and second orders you can be waiting ages. I feel they need more staff. Every single person is amazing though and very good. I also feel prices are a little high for this area. Thank you though.

We loved our visit, we were made to feel so welcome celebrating a birthday. Loved the special touch of tinsel on my dish! Food was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Thank you everyone at spring cottage!
