It was very nice but they hadn’t realised I had booked afternoon tea it was just shown as table booked so therefore they weren’t prepared for us however it didn’t take long for them to rectify this and I have never seen such a large scone so I saved this along with jam and clotted cream for my tea and still couldn’t finish it xx

The service was slow?? It wasn’t particularly busy, but the staff were pleasant and kept apologising. My husband couldn’t eat his full English breakfast which he had been looking forward to. All the food on the plate looked as if it had been under a heater for a while and forgotten about! He complained when it was time to pay and got a refund which was acceptable.
The staff are not quite ‘working together’ and ‘communicating’ when they allow this kind of thing to happen. Such a shame. We have enjoyed coming over the years.
The Restaurant, staff and the atmosphere are great.... but dried up, tasteless, food?? Not good.

Staff friendly, cvd19 implentations worked well & hand gel on each table was a nice touch. Decor & ambience lovely. Food was good but not hot enough. Pet hate of mine, stick it in the microwave for 30 seconds before it comes out, nobody would ever know. We were the only ones in first thing on a Sunday morning so no reason for it to be luke warm. Coffee's were hot though so that was nice. Would have liked to have butter on the toast rather than margarine & I know this is picky but it was spread in a rush, half the toast had nothing on it. Make sure the food & drinks are piping hot & there's nothing much to complain about here. Thank you.

Comfortable, clean and tidy, especially adhering to Covid restrictions. Unfortunately one of our meals was a pizza that was served in a burnt condition. We queried this and were told "that's how it came". Eventually we did get a replacement pizza and that and our other 3 meals were delicious.

The good was great. The only area I’d say could improve was the service. We had to ask how to order (it would be better if someone explained what to do during the current circumstances) and then ask for someone to come over and order.

So glad to see Dahlias reopen. I took my friend for her birthday afternoon tea. The room was busy not too comfortable the table behind us was far away enough. The tea was lovely. Scones not baked had to wait. Red hot when they arrived. When I cut into mine is was not baked through and soggy in the middle. The spray cream had melted into liquid. Sure we had clotted cream on a previous visit. I told the waitress who apologised but no replacement offered. Spoilt an otherwise nice tea.

Unfortunately the steak pudding was possibly over cooked as it was very hard to put your knife through. All other food was fine and service was good. Social distancing was in place and hygiene was very good.

service was a little slow at times, mix up with main meal, said it would be about 2 minutes wait, my husband had finished his dinner before my father - in -laws came. the 3 course Sunday lunch was lovely. Just a shame we had to wait for one of the meals.

Very well presented afternoon tea and plenty of it. Sandwiches were fresh and full of filling. Scones and cakes were excellent. Tea was flowing and the Pimms was nicely served in Christmas stocking glasses. The only niggle, which is facing all of us at this time, is that it was really cold in the eating area, we were sat by a radiator which obviously due to the times we are in wasn't on and thankfully the hot tea kept us warm. Understandable but just affects the ambience score.

I've never eaten off a wooden board which I didn't enjoy. l had to eat from 3 different items, chips in a basket, salad/coleslaw in a tin bowl and hunters chicken etc from a board.
Staff were lovely, just was too many dealing with you at different times.

Had to wait too long to be seated, asked what soup was, they had to go an find out and was told it was pea and ham, so we ordered only for him to come back and tell us there is no soup !!!!. We found the service slow, but when the food arrived it was lovely, would I recommend not sure, but will give you another try and see what happens. Then I make my mind up, we are local so will call in again.
