Can’t fault our experience at the Hart’s Head. Great atmosphere, our meal was plentiful, of good quality and delicious. Service was quick and efficient and the staff were welcoming and friendly.
We took our dog with us and sat in the bar area which was very comfortable. They even had a dog menu! There was a jar of dog treats available for no charge. So our dog was happy too!
There was a fire in the bar area which wasn’t lit unfortunately as it would have made it more cosy if it had been.

Because of the popularity of the offer the numbers of people eating meant that the staff on duty were very busy and it really could have been beneficial to have had another couple of members of staff on duty. However, it was excellent.

I still pine for the ambience of the Harts Head before the refurbishment - with the dart board, array of different beers, etc - but I guess those happy days are behind us now. The Harts Head is no longer the 'social club' it used to be. It is basically just a restaurant now, but a very pleasant one with excellent and friendly staff so well done for that.

We booked for an early dinner as we were going to the theatre so the dining area was empty apart from us for the first half hour. It was a little lacking in atmosphere and was a bit chilly by the window (it was blowing a gale outside, not your fault and the radiator was on!)
The food and service were absolutely superb, faultless. We had teryaki chicken starter and olives followed by fish and chips (excellent) and steak frites with chimichurri sauce (absolutely superb) and we shared an Eton mess sundae for dessert.
As the restaurant area filled up the atmosphere improved and the lovely waiting staff lit the candle in the lantern on the windowledge for us which also helped make it feel cosier.
Great value for money, we thought it would have been more expensive including the drinks. We will definitely come again.
