My only comment would be that the food was a little slow to the table. It didn’t bother us as we we were talking and the gap between the main and dessert was welcomed. However, if you are in a bit of a hurry this may not be what you need.

Mike, Claire and Josh made us so welcome. The Lawrence is a gorgeous and you can tell that everyone takes great pride in keeping it this way. Not one to usually give 10/10 for everything but the service, drinks and food were all top quality. The burgers were absolutely insane!! Raffy who was serving us was so lovely and attentive as well and the assistant manager who’s name I’ve gone blank on, he was so lovely and polite, even recommended a few things on the menu to us. Beautiful room and great service as we arrived and at the table.Disappointed that some of the Yorkshire puddings were quite burnt, one of the chocolate brownies was basically a small pile of crumbs, whereas the others were a proper slice of brownie ( I would have complained, but he had eaten it when by the time I had turned around!!!), and finally, I had ordered a dog meal advertised as rice , chicken and peas, but when it came it was scraps of the roast chicken dinner, with very little chicken. I believe I paid £6.95 for this, so I hope it was not the scraps off someone’s plate.
Everyone said they had a lovely evening, and I did not want to make a fuss on my Mum’s special birthday, so did not complain at the time, as we did enjoy ourselves , but , I did spend around £400 on the meal so did expect a certain standard to be met across all the dishes.

Unsuitable blunt knives for lamb, had to go find waiter to get sharper ones.

As this was an outside experience and a cold one at that, the Lawrence did do well for trying yo make us as warm as possible but as it was open on 3 sides as per the guidance we were all a little drafty. The food was amazing as usual. Some background music may have been nice in helping dull the traffic noise and provide a little atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Hi we do come and dine a lot with yourselves and enjoy. I had the chicken with fondant potato (it was still raw in the middle) I informed the waitress who took the whole dish away. By the time it returned my husband had finished his food which by the way was beautiful

Took a long time to get our food booked in at 5 but not seated until 5.30 .. had started , then main course took a long time to come . Staff nice and food good but last two times have been very slow to get food . It wasn’t busy or full either

The lounge area was cold, we had to keep our coats on.
Food was nice, one of the group thought the veg was a little under done. My sweet was sherry trifle brule, in which I have never tasted a sherry trifle like it, neither a hint of trifle or sherry.
Ambience was very nice but after 8 pm we were alone we also had to ask for more heating in the restaurant and although the waiter never made us feel uncomfortable we felt they were waiting for us to go so they could close up.
One of the group has said she will not be returning to eat again. That makes it 3 out of 4.

2 courses for £15 was OK. Both starters and main were good. I had chicken and felt a sauce or dip would have enhanced the dish. It was a tad noisy as there was a party of 14 in but nothing the owners could avoid. Service was good. I had a dessert for afters Lawrence Eton Mess which I felt was pricey at £6.95. It didn't contain strawberries which I expected rather fruits of the forest but maybe that is the Lawrence's take on it, it didn't contain ice cream either so a rather small portion for the price.
