Absolutely fantastic experience at Maiz do Mar. From the moment we walked in, Gonçalo greeted us warmly and made us feel genuinely welcome. He shared the restaurant’s vision of bringing authentic Mexican flavors to Lisbon, which set the tone for the night. We started with grouper empanada bites, followed by the seared tuna tostada (highly recommend), a rich and flavorful cauliflower steak, and beautifully presented ox cheek tacos served with fresh-made corn tortillas and sides to build your own. Not a single bad bite. The mezcal cocktails paired perfectly with everything. Incredible food, thoughtful drinks, and standout hospitality from start to finish. We’ll absolutely be back.

We had dinner at Maiz do Mar and thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic ambiance and dishes. The gentlemen who served us did so with true passion for their craft. It’s highly recommended!

It was an awesome experience. The truly & authentic mexican food as a startpoint with a delicate twist either to marry with the portuguese tradition or to show the best skills and expertise of Chef Rodrigo. Very surprising food and flavors!!! Homy and cozy style with a superb service. They actually sit with you at the table and explain each detail, as proud storytellers. A must!

This is a very good and original restaurant, the 2 owners, care deeply about what they are serving and you will have a very thoughtful dinner, with some unusual and enjoyable flavours. Our dinner became a little expensive, but I think we ordered badly. The room could do with some soft furnishings to soften the noise level, the buzz was good, all the noise combined can become a bit much. They deserve to do well. Visit!
